UNDERTAKER-GOLDBERG, FORMER ANNOUNCERS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-11-25 10:00:00

Whatever happened to Charlie Ming?

The WWE announcer is now living in NYC and pursuing acting as well as broadcasting.

Whatever happened to Stephanie Wiand?

I suspect a theme to your questions.  Since leaving WWF, she has worked on producing several independent films.

Whatever happened to Todd Pettengill?

Todd is still going strong as the lead DJ of the WPLJ morning show on 95.5 FM in New York City.

Whatever happened to Larry Nelson?

The longtime AWA announcer passed away in June 2014 afte battling pancreatic cancer.  After wrestling, he worked as a DJ under his given name Larry Shipley.

I have read countless complaints about goldberg being 50 years old and beating lesnar. Im not one of those people because I understand the set up for a bigger match, the buzz it created and the pure shock. What I dont get is why people are ok with undertaker winning against younger guys and he is the same age as goldberg. People are still outraged that 30 something year old lesnar beat 50ish taker at Wrestlemania. So why the double standard?

I think a lot of it has to do with the short match against Brock Lesnar and the short ending that came with it, as well as the fact he just walked into the company and did it.  Undertaker has a long history with the company and has had a lot of awesome matches that fans have loved.  Goldberg vs. Lesnar was pure spectacle at the end of a show following a several week build.  Some fans didn't want that spectacle and instead wanted a longer match.  They will probably get it, but they will have to wait for it.
