LENDING MONEY TO TNA, DOING TWO RUMBLE MATCHES, ONE MORE BOUT FOR HBK AND MORE

I realize this question might be a little presumptuous and also possibly spurious but, considering the WWE have spent the past year and a half rebuilding the women wrestlers as serious athletes and no longer eye candy, isn't this Emma/Emmalina persona with the cheesecake photo shoots a huge step backwards, especially for someone who was working hard to erase the memory of her previous and risible dancing girl gimmick?

You can make that point.  I guess we will see as it goes forward.  I have no problem with a girl being beautiful and tough as well.  That is OK.  But I want Emma to get more than the Eva Marie gimmick because she can really work.  With that said, every woman that comes up will not be super tough, just as every man that comes up isn’t.

The latest news is that The Fight Network has loaned TNA money and has offered further funding to assist them and pay back Billy Corgan. But isn't this just enabling TNA, as what they need is investment rather than funding? Taking on more debt, added to the lawsuits and tax liens, in exchange for buying out Corgan while giving away yet more ownership stakes in the company is just adding to the problems. I don't see how WWE could make an offer for the tape library if part of it has already been sold to The Fight Network and the TNA trademark is owned by Aroluxe.

This who thing is just bizarre.  Dixie Carter asserts that the company is not insolvent, but when Mike Epsenhart looked up the legal definition while were doing our show yesterday, it sure sounds like they are to me.  I don’t get why Anthem would give them loans either.  Either buy the company or don’t, but loans?  It makes no sense to me.  TNA has sold off pieces of the company from a position of need, not desire.  That tells me that they are huge problems.  To me, anyone putting money into TNA should get an ownership stake and get rid of the person that got them to this point.  Lending money seems like a fool’s errand to me.  That’s my two cents.

Someone asked about having having two Rumble matches.  I like the idea, but what about having two 20 man rumble matches instead?  My fear is just like the previous brand split, with only one rumble there will be that same loophole of the winner being able to choose which champ he can face.  Then once again, we will start the trend of multiple brand switching which I do not want to see.

I think 20 would be too much for Smackdown so if it’s me, and I were going to do two matches, I would split the concept in half completely and do two fifteen man matches.  That would work with the timing of the show as well.

With the Royal Rumble been in San Antonio this year and Vince needing to sell 40,000 tickets, what is the likelihood Shawn Michaels returns for 1 more match. And if he were to come back who would your ideal opponent be? My choice, AJ Styles.

They are teasing it already, as we posted on the site a few days ago (with AJ in the photo).  Shawn was in great shape last time we saw him on WWE TV.  I think there is at least a chance it could happen.  Shawn has always said that he would work if Vince asked him.  At his age, it probably couldn’t be full time but it could be a match.  So I would say there is a possibility, for sure.

Hi chaps. Rewatching Wrestling with Shadows and couple of questions. First, when the issue of losing to Shawn became a clear problem why didn't Vince just switch the main event? Assuming Bret would have lost to someone else (Austin, Taker). With regard to the film are the obvious overdubs of the "recorded conversations" meant to be passed off as genuine or just open artistic license?

Vince wanted the Title to go to Shawn.  That is who he chose to be the guy after Bret left.  He had storylines planned for him that he wanted to do.  I don’t blame him. His mistake was giving out creative control in the first place, but I get why he did it.  I haven’t seen the film since it debuted but I don’t remember the conversations you are referring to.
