LASHLEY RETURNS TO MMA TONIGHT, NY POST SAYS TNA 'SMASHING' CORGAN TAKEOVER ATTEMPT

By Mike Johnson on 2016-10-21 12:07:00

TNA star Bobby Lashley returns to MMA tonight as part of Bellator 162 on Spike, facing Josh Appelt.   The broadcast kicks off at 9 PM Eastern.

The New York Post's Richard Sherman featured his latest article on the TNA financial situation today, pretty much writing that TNA's current ownership was fending off attempts by Billy Corgan to take over ownership of the company, noting that according to their sources, talks for Corgan to take over the company "went nasty" leading to the lawsuit Corgan filed on 10/12.    The article noted that The Fight Network's parent company Anthem Media Sports & Entertainment has offered to pay Corgan back and that their involvement may have been the reason the lawsuit hearing scheduled for 10/20 was pushed back to 10/26.  Most interesting is a line that refers to Corgan as having "owned" a minority share in the company, as if it was in the past tense and that his designs on ownership have been complicated by other owners.  There was no insight in the piece as to what Corgan's side might be.

Set for next week's Impact Wrestling:

*EC3 and Jessie Godderz vs. TNA Grand champion Eli Drake and Aron Rex.

*Lauren Van Ness vs. Allie.

*Cody & Brandi Rhodes vs. Mike Bennett & Maria Kanellis.
