FULL 10/8 NXT RESULTS FROM BALTIMORE, MD

By Craig Libby on 2016-10-09 11:45:00

NXT Live October 8 2016 APGFCU Arena Baltimore MD

Building seats about 2200 and is full.

The Crowd is very up for the show and vocal.

The first match

Wesley Blake Vs. Lince Dorado

Blake is introduced as Wesley “The Beautiful Body” Blake.  He is met with We want Murphy chants.

Before they lock up they give the audience a pose off.  With the crowd booing every one of Blake’s poses and Cheering every one of Dorado’s

Dorodo wins with shooting star press.

Second Match.

Aliyah vs. Liv Morgan

Crowd very into the ladies match especially a small package spot where they each reverse the move at least 10 times.  Aliyah is playing the heel and the crowd does go in that direction.  Good match they both worked hard.

Liv Wins

Third Match

TM61 Vs. The Authors Of Pain

This is the first time that I have seen the AOP in anything other than a squash and they can actually work or at least I think they can.  TM 61 get in more than anyone else I have seen against the AOP but in the end the fall to them.

AOP wins.  After the match they go to hit one of the fallen TM61 with their finish because they didn’t win the match with it but the other member of TM61 makes the save and then together they clear the ring.  Precious Paul didn’t make the trip to Charm City but I didn’t think he was going to be there.

Fourth Match  Elias Sampson Vs. No Way Jose

Sampson has heat with crowd right off the bat.  He tells the ring announcer to come over to him he tells the crowd that he has written a new song for them and is met with boos he then states he will not perform the song and a YES chant breaks out he then says that since they now want to hear it so bad he will sing for us. The song of course is about how bad Baltimore sucks and how the people suck even throws in the Steelers/Ravens rivalry for good measure.

Jose comes out and get great reaction then a Delete chant starts toward Sampson and Jose goes with it joining in on the chant and doing the arm motion along with the crowd.

Sampson works a head lock or front face lock for 75 % of the match until Jose makes his comeback.

Jose wins.

15 Min Intermission

Fifth Match

Bobby Roode Vs. Cedric Alexander

Cedric is loved by the crowd and gets great welcome.  Roode is loved by the crowd even more and gets an even better reaction.  The only problem is Roode is supposed to be the heel and the only way this crowd is going to boo him is if he clubs some baby seals in the middle of the ring and even then I am not so sure this crowd would turn on him.

They had a very good match with Alexander getting 70% of the match and Roode finally winning after a low blow then the jumping DDT

Roode wins.

Sixth Match

Peyton Royce Vs. Auska for the NXT Women’s Championship

Royce is met with an immediate Auska’s gonna kill you chant.

Auska comes out to the best reaction of the night so far.  Even better than Roode and that did surprise me just a little.  I never realized how tiny Auska was until seeing her in person she is like a rainbow smurf and I don’t mean that to be disparaging in any way it I just never realized how small she was.

They have a very good match and Royce worked very hard and is a good heel playing the part well.

Auska wins with the Cross Face Chicken Wing with Body Scissors or “The Auska Lock” if you prefer.

Seventh and Final Match

Ausin Aries and Samoa Joe Vs. Tye Dillenger and Shinsuke Nakamura

During the intros the crowd show all the performers how much they like and respect them.

Even in this small venue Nakamura’s entrance is something to behold.  I know it is basic with just his music and the strobe lights but it is great and the reaction for him is the best of the night by far.  There is no other way to put it Nakamura is a star plain and simple and I really hope that he will translate when the time comes for him on the big stage of the main roster.

There is quite a bit of comedy to start the match which I am fine with because the crowd was into it and it worked.

Great match all of the guys worked hard and in the end everyone gets what they came for.

Dillenger and Nakamura win after Nakamura hits the Kinshasa (hope I got the spelling of that correctly)
