THE GREATNESS OF CHRIS JERICHO, HOW DIXIE CARTER GOT INTO WRESTLING, NXT IN NYC AND MORE

Why exactly did Dixie Carter get involved with TNA?  From what I gather, she had no experience with the wrestling business and seems as if she has relatively little business acumen in general. Was this initially just an investment opportunity that she latched onto? When Jarrett was still involved with TNA he seemed to be the one doing most of the leg work on the deals that they made.  It seemed as if Dixie just held the purse strings. And I don't think we have to go into her onscreen work, that agonizingly speaks for itself.

She owned a marketing/PR company in Nashville and did work for TNA.  When the Jarretts were bleeding money, she stepped in with help from her parents and bought the company when it needed a savior.  So yes sir, she had no experience in the wrestling business and sadly, it shows.  But, if it weren’t for her family’s money, the company would have died many years ago, so you have to give her credit for that too.

I’ve been really enjoying Chris Jericho’s work lately, especially his promos. What do you think about his work recently?

I think Jericho has been doing some of the best work of his career.  He has been great in the ring and on the mic.  This has been a great run for him.

Do you think NXT will ever run Hammerstein ballroom in NYC?

Here is the issue.  While I would love to see them run that intimate setting, they are able to sell out a big building in Brooklyn for a huge gate.  It really doesn’t make sense to run a building that small when you can fill a larger arena.

I wonder if you knew if there was any heat or bad blood between WWE & Tori (Poch)? Whenever I read articles, or see picture slideshows on women of WWE, they rarely, if ever, mention her. I figure there must be a reason. Do you know of any reason for this?

I remember something about her having an issue with some wrestler while working as a trainer on Tough Enough and then leaving the company but other than that, nothing else.  I don’t remember that being major.

The UFC has advertising all over the sides and floor of their cage.  Why hasn't WWE sold advertising space on their ring, and in particular on the canvas, which has always been blank?  I would imagine they could make quite a lot from that.

UFC is a shoot, fighting product.  Boxing has advertising as well.  In Mexico, the lucha groups sell advertising there as well.  But WWE doesn’t want to do that (or hasn’t).  From what I have been told, they think it distracts from the presentation of the product, and I see their point.
