BY THE NUMBERS: LOOKING AT THE WEEK IN WRESTLING FROM WWE, ROH, AND TNA

By Richard Trionfo on 2016-09-28 06:22:00

After a few weeks where wrestling was as rare as seeing a unicorn, it appears that some of these shows are remembering that there is supposed to be wrestling on wrestling shows.  After a few weeks when we almost hit 200 minutes, we have had seven straight weeks under 165 minutes of wrestling for the 11 hours of wrestling.  This week, we returned to semi-respectability with 177 minutes of wrestling.

Raw won the week with 53 minutes of wrestling, the same total as last week.  This was the third time in the last four weeks with more than 50 minutes of wrestling.  Smackdown finished in second place with 33 minutes of wrestling, up seventeen minutes from last week.  This was the first time Smackdown was over 30 minutes of wrestling since the end of July.  Impact finished in third place with 24 minutes of wrestling, down four minutes from last week.  This was the third straight week under 30 minutes of wrestling for Impact.

Ring of Honor finished in fourth place with 22 minutes of wrestling, down three minutes from last week.  NXT finished in fifth place with 18 minutes of wrestling, up one minute from last week.  This was the eighth time in the last nine weeks that NXT was under 20 minutes of wrestling.  Main Event finished in sixth place with 16 minutes of wrestling, up eleven minutes of wrestling.  This was the first time in five weeks that Main Event was in the teens and the first time in the last three weeks that Main Event hit double digits for wrestling.  Superstars finished in seventh place with 11 minutes, the same amount as last week.

This week saw Raw pass 13,000 minutes this week.  NXT passed 6,200 minutes this week.  Ring of Honor passed 5,700 minutes.

I have started a new feature for 2016.  Since a the times for the matches can be a little misleading because the counts are only for the time on the show and does not factor the commercial breaks.  Starting with this week, if there is a [c] next to a match, it means that there was a commercial break.
