After their biggest show of the year in Lowell, Chaotic returns to their home base in Woburn with the debut of War Machine and a couple of surprise appearances!

MATCH ONE: New England Championship - Travis “Flip” Gordon (c) v. Brian Fury

Student versus Teacher opened the show as Fury faced off against a wrestler he had a major hand in training.  With his career coming to an end in December, it’s a great match for Fury as he faces off against one of his most promising students and a man who just had a big showcase match in EVOLVE last week in Gordon.

The story of this match was the crafty veteran using all of his cunning and experience to try and deal with the super athleticism of Gordon.  Flip got a lot of innovative spots that got the crowd up and on his side early, but Fury quickly cut him off and started to get the heat on him.  In addition to his athleticism, Gordon did a very good job of selling and has improved a lot on that front in the last six months.

There were a couple of great nearfalls exchanged between the two of them toward the end of the match that got the crowd to bite. There was a really great spot where Gordon went for a hurricanrana but Fury blocked it and transitioned into his Boston Crab.  The crowd really bought it as a finish, but Gordon got the ropes.

The finish saw Fury try for a move up top, but was knocked to the mat by Gordon.  That allowed Flip to hit the Spiral Tap for the victory.  This was a very simple, yet athletic, match that was a great opener.

WINNER: Travis “Flip” Gordon

MATCH TWO: Best of Five Series - Adam Booker (2) v. Brick Mastone (1)

As Brick was making his entrance, Booker dropkicked the already injured left leg of Mastone.  This was an effective way to establish himself as the heel and garner sympathy from the crowd for Brick.

From there, the story of the match was Brick trying to overcome his injury to use his power-based offense to beat the veteran Booker.  Mastone spent a lot of time on the mat selling and attempting comebacks that Booker kept stuffing.

Eventually, Brick made a good comeback, but also remembered to keep selling the leg injury while doing it.  Booker looked like he was in complete control when Brick rolled him into a small package for the win.  After the match, Booker went right after the leg and locked in a Sharpshooter until an extra referee came in to pull him off.

WINNER: Brick Mastone

Chaotic Heavyweight Champion Chase Del Monte came out for a promo.  He had a neck brace on.  He put himself over as the greatest champion who has ever lived.  He said he has some big news: after ten months, his neck is healed and he is a miracle of modern science.  GM Johnny Vegas came on the big screen and said they have a special guest GM.  This brought out William Regal!  He said he’s always looking for talent for NXT.  Del Monte said “thank you!”  Which Regal quipped, “I said TALENT,” which got a huge reaction.  Regal said since Del Monte thinks he has talent, he has someone ready to face him and brought out Scotty Slade.  He booked them for later tonight!

MATCH THREE: Three Way Tag Match - Bryce Clayton & Cam Zagami v. Elia Markopolis & Christian Casanova v. Mikey Webb & “All Good” Anthony Greene

As is the case with most three ways, especially tag matches, there was a lot of action and a lot of quick tags and chances for all six men to get in some offense.  All six guys did a good job of showing an athletic style, though Clayton was more of an enforcer type for Zagami.

Finish saw Casanova hit a big frog splash on Webb that allowed Markopolis score the pin for their team.

WINNERS: Elia Markopolis & Christian Casanova

After the match, The Minutemen (Devin Blaze & Tommy Trainwreck) attacked Webb & Greene.

MATCH FOUR: Chaotic Heavyweight Championship - Chase Del Monte (c) v. Scotty Slade

Given his smaller stature, Slade played more of the Spike Dudley/Mikey Whipwreck role by trying a lot of roll-ups and other slick moves to try and get a quick win over Del Monte.  After getting frustrated, Del Monte went to take his title and leave.  As he did, ring announcer Rich Palladino got on the house mic and said that William Regal informed him that if Del Monte got himself intentionally counted out, he would be stripped of the title.

The match continued with Del Monte working over Slade to get the heat on him.  The crowd got into Slade a little, but it didn’t seem like they fully bought into him having a legitimate chance at winning given the place in the card and the size discrepancy.  They did bite on a top rope DDT from Slade, to their credit.  Del Monte did well in his role of taunting the crowd and making them want Slade to win more than they originally did.

Finish saw Del Monte hit a low blow and a piledriver to score the win and retain the title.

WINNER: Chase Del Monte

MATCH FIVE: JT Dunn v. AR Fox

This started off hot and heavy with a lot of athletic offense traded between the two.  There was one crazy spot on the floor where Dunn went for a cannonball into a seated Fox but he missed and ate the guardrail.

Fox, per usual, put in an innovative display of highly athletic offense that was a level above most on the independent scene.  Dunn, while not the level of high flyer, is good enough of a pro to not only keep up with Fox, but work his own style to standout within the match.  He ended up selling for a good chunk of the match, and as the local favorite, did a good job in getting an emotional response from the crowd.

Fox with an absurd somersault plancha over the corner to the floor, followed by a leg drop from the top rope to the apron that sounded like it broke his hip.  That was followed by a Codebreaker for a nearfall.

The two traded cartoonish nearfalls including a reverse hurricanrana, a top rope Spanish Fly and a 450 Splash until Dunn scored the win with the Roaring Elbow.  While I thought the nearfalls were a little over the top, it got a tremendous response from the crowd and a standing ovation, so they deserve a lot of credit for that.

WINNER: JT Dunn

MATCH SIX: Chaotic Women’s Championship - Davienne (c) v. Alexxis

Good technical work from Alexxis early on to keep the champion controlled on the mat.  Lots of really deep, hard headlocks which are reminiscent of a guy she knows who wrestles for TNA.  They were well done on her part.

She was able to stay in control until she was on the top rope and Davienne pushed her to the floor.  From there, the champion worked over the back of Alexxis to build the heat on her.  She did well using submissions and hard shots to garner sympathy for Alexxis and to get the crowd to not like her.

The finish saw a controversial fall.  Alexxis had a small package, but Davienne used her momentum to roll over and get the pin, though it looked like both girls may have had their shoulders down.  Regardless, Davienne was given the win.

WINNER: Davienne

MAIN EVENT: Chaotic Tag Team Championship - The Logan Brothers (Matt & Bryan) (c) v. War Machine (Hanson & Raymond Rowe)

War Machine extended their hands before the match.  Rowe said they’re from Ring of Honor, where we shake your hand and then kick your butt.  The Logan Brothers refused the handshake.

War Machine dominated the proceedings early.  Lots of quick tags and double team moves that looked like they hurt, but only because Rowe and Hanson are great at what they do and know how to use their size.

The Logans were able to gain control when they crotched Hanson as he was headed to the top rope.  They cut the ring off on him and began to work him over to get the crowd to rally behind the former ROH Tag Team Champions.

Hanson did a very good, prolonged job selling until he got the hot tag to Rowe.  In an impressive display of strength, Rowe put one Logan on his shoulder and picked up another one and fallaway slammed both of them.

Finish saw War Machine get a near fall on Bryan, which led to Matt grabbing one of the tag belts.  Bryan hit Rowe with a belt shot but only got a nearfall.  As the ref grabbed one belt away from Bryan, Matt grabbed the other belt, hit Rowe and Hanson, which then allowed Bryan to score the win.

WINNERS: The Logan Brothers

After the win, Chase Del Monte came out and started to lay the boots to War Machine.  This brought out JT Dunn, who is feuding with Del Monte, for the save.  As Dunn was about to hit the big elbow, Del Monte ducked out of the ring.  As he was leaving, another surprise in Oney Lorcen (Biff Busick) stopped him and threw him back in the ring!  In the ring, Dunn laid Chase out.  He got on the mic and demanded a title match.  Del Monte refused.  When that happened, Dunn pulled out scissors and threatened to cut off Del Monte’s man bun.  Del Monte said he wouldn’t have the balls to do it…so Dunn did it!  The crowd really enjoyed that one.  Del Monte ran off and JT Dunn celebrated to end the show!

Overall, this was a solid show that not only had established stars, but also was a showcase for some younger talent to gain some experience. Check them out in the Boston area if you get a chance.  Follow them @chaoticwrestlin
