CEDRIC ALEXANDER, THE SHIELD VS. THE CLUB? AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-09-23 10:00:00

I know Im the ultimate pessimist but I need to ask your opinion on this one...The "please sign Cedric" chant leading to HHH coming out and acknowledging him and the crowd... Its one of the feel good moments of the year in pro wrestling and I really believe HHH's 1 and only motivation for going out there was to end an extremely long curtain call by Cedric....Your thoughts?

That is not what happened here.  As Cedric Alexander discussed when we interviewed him for the Elite section, he had actually returned to the locker room after the crowd went nuts for him after the match with Kota Ibushi.  He was then instructed by HHH to go out and take another bow and headed back out.  HHH then surprised Alexander by coming out and raising his arm.  If anything, HHH went out of his way to give Cedric a rub, not take away from his moment.

My mind is getting confused and can’t believe creative has a 6 month plan in the works but hear me out please.  Rusev and Reigns fight Sunday.  Someone comes out to help Rusev which brings Rollins out once again to help Reigns.  2/3 of the Shield united.  Ambrose and AJ at next Smackdown PPV and AJ wins again thru nefarious deeds.   Ambrose is upset and the 2/3 (faces) of the Shield reach out to their fallen partner.  The Shield is reunited for Wrestlemania against Rusev, AJ and whoever helps Rusev.  Could this be the plan?

With rumors flying around that WWE wants to reunite the shield for a one off reunion now that all 3 men are faces, what are the chances we see The Shield vs The Club at Survivor Series? It would continue the Styles vs Ambrose feud another month before Ambrose gets his promised one on one rematch in December, gets Rollins away from Owens and the title picture before presumably starting a feud with Triple H in the new year, and gives a modern day dream match at a dual branded PPV- a PPV known for multi man tag matches.

I am answering both of these at once.  The plan is possible, but I haven't heard that the plan is to reunite the group.  Personally, I'd love to see them build to The Shield vs. The Club at some point, but again, I haven't heard that is the plan either.  It  makes sense to do this on a big combined PPV at some point, but whether the company has this locked in, I cannot say.

I saw Mike Johnson said on Facebook that he is hosting and producing a new series for Highspots.  Will thisalso air on PWInsider?

No, the series, "Legends of Extreme" was produced and will be  exclusively distributed by The Highspots Wrestling Network.  We'll have more on it when it debuts sometime towards the latter part of 2016.

Admittedly I had not seen much of Cedric Alexander in ROH. But he was phenomenal during each of his CWC appearances. Did ROH just miss the boat with him during his run their or has he really upped his game since hitting the WWE platform?

I think it's a little of both.  I think that Ring of Honor missed the boat with him for sure as he only went to a certain level creatively, but it's also important to point out that Alexander also dropped a lot of weight for the WWE opportunity, which also allowed his work to become even sleeker.  He's absolutely upped his game and it's been a real pleasure to watch.
