IS STING VS. UNDERTAKER STILL A POSSIBILITY?, GETTING A BAD GIMMICK OVER AND MORE

I just watched JBL'S "Legends" show with Sting on the WWE network;  it's actually my favorite network program. A couple years ago, I was thrilled to see Sting do the 2k15 video game, then show up for the first time at Survivor Series, have a great feud with HHH for WM 31 (even though he lost), get a few Raw matches under his belt and then end with an intriguing feud with Seth Rollins for the WWE title. I'm happy he did not get seriously hurt with Seth, and then went into the HoF healthy this year. As a big Sting fan, I always wanted more but I am happy he eventually came to WWE. Ive accepted it. Then, I watch the JBL episode and am once again dangled the carrot of Sting/Undertaker with JBL insinuating Sting hasn't gotten a specific surgery performed bc it would officially end his wrestling career. Worse yet, Sting more or less confirms this noting he still wants a Taker match. With WM33 sure to see Undertaker/Cena - I assume via last year's Cena injury - as a fan, why wasn't this clip left on the cutting room floor? Is there any chance Sting could really be cleared at this point? Can you shed any light here?

There's always a chance, but my gut feeling is that WWE won't clear Sting for the bout.  That doesn't mean that Sting isn't still willing to openly talk about it or to push it in hopes of building momentum within fans.

Who do you think best got a bad gimmick over? I think of ones like Bad News Barrett, The New Day, Dolph Ziggler...they were all deemed DOA but then became massively popular to their own credit.

Too Cool.

In your opinion, which wrestler do you think best reinvented him/herself? I would like to exclude the ones that were jobbers, not popular or had bad gimmicks and then reinvented themselves (like Steve Austin, Kane, Bray Wyatt, etc.). I want to focus on the ones who were already popular and then became more popular. Ones like Bully Ray, Matt Hardy (any incarnation), Chris Jericho (any incarnation), Sting (any incarnation), Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner, etc.

Of the last few years, I would have to say Matt Hardy.  He's created an over the top character that became funny and fresh in a world where wrestling has taken itself far too seriously at times.

Have you heard any update on Oney Lorcan? They made a big deal over him getting an upset win over Ty Dillinger. Then it took a month before they interviewed him about his big win and he said he was going back to his roots and now there's no sign of him? I liked his Indy work and hope they do something with him. Have you heard anything?

He's still in NXT and working regularly.  It's a just a matter of time until he pops up on TV again.

Do you think there will ever be another boom period in wrestling like the mid-late 80s and late 90s-early 2000s?

It's possible but given how much the landscape of pop culture has changed, I don't know we will ever see it at the level of those time periods.
