COMPLETE IMPACT WRESTLING - TURNING POINT REPORT: LASHLEY'S LAST CHALLENGER BEFORE BOUND FOR GLORY IS DETERMINED, A NEW CHAMPION IS CROWNED, EC3 AND DREW GALLOWAY MEET ON THE SET OF BURN NOTICE BEFORE BATTLING FOR THE BOUND FOR GLORY TITLE SHOT, AND MORE

By Stuart Carapola on 2016-08-25 23:24:00

Welcome to the Impact Wrestling Report here on PWInsider.com! (Apologies for the late start, had a scheduling snafu tonight.)

We start off with Ethan Carter III and Drew Galloway at what appears to be the set of Burn Notice, they were both told to be there by the office and were given a bottle of whiskey.  We'll check back in with them later, but just now we see a video package recapping all the heat between Drew and EC3 leading into their big match tonight.

Bobby Lashley comes out to join in on commentary for our opening match, and the Pope steps out rather than risk letting things get heated.

#1 Contender's Battle Royal

Okay, our participants are the Bromans, the Tribunal, Grado, Mahabali Shera, Mike Bennett, Moose, Eddie Edwards, and Eli Drake.  Everyone goes at it from the bell, one of the Tribunal guys goes out first, followed closely by Mahabali Shera as we go to commercial.

We're back, and nobody has been eliminated during the commercial break, but Robbie is eliminated soon after we return by the other Tribunal guy, who himself is then LAUNCHED over the top rope by Moose.  Moose glances down at Lashley before going after Eddie Edwards.  Grado gets tossed, Eddie nearly eliminates Drake, but Drake barely saves himself, runs back in after Eddie, and gets tossed for good this time.  We're down to Bennett and Moose agains Eddie and Jessie, Moose dumps Jessie to the apron and nearly knocks him out with a right hand, but Jessie springboards back in and nails both Moose and Bennett with a double clothesline.  Moose is unfazed and dumps Jessie, and now Eddie's on his own against both men.  Eddie fights them both off and goes for a Frankensteiner on Moose, but Moose catches Eddie and goes to dump him over the top rope, but Bennett comes in from behind and tosses both men.

Winner: Mike Bennett

Moose is PISSED at what Bennett did, and angrily slaps the mat as Bennett celebrates.  Bennett confidently points at Lashley, who gets up from his chair and tells Bennett he's in for some bad news.

EC3 and Drew are sitting down and doing shots, and EC3 asks Drew what his problem is.  We go to commercial, but not before seeing Aron Rex arrive at the arena!  He'll be the special referee tonight!

Are those debt collectors getting you down?  Call Tyrus, the Fixer...but make sure you have cash!

Moose is going off on Bennett backstage, but Bennett is trying to blame Eddie for getting Moose eliminated.  Maria notices the cameraman and kicks him out.

Back to the arena, where BROKEN Matt Hardy comes out to the ring to say that he doesn't hold a mere piece of paper in his hand, it is a key to destiny...the tag team title that will affirm his destiny.  The Obsolete Mule comes out to the ring and Matt wants to know why he's here, and Brother Nero says he's here to wrestle and win for Matt...and for himself.  Rosemary comes out and says they did away with emotion long ago, and see how they turned out?  They have something the Hardys want, and they'll never let them have it.  Abyss comes down the ramp and says they'll take joy in destroying what's left of the Hardy legacy, and they will forever rot in Decay.  Abyss laughs, Matt laughs along with him, and Abyss says it'll be just like him...BEAUTIFUL!  Now Crazzzzzzzzzzy Steve is in the crowd and says this isn't a game, and Matt thinks he has so much to gain from them, but he has so much to lose.  Matt isn't BROKEN, but Decay will shatter him and his legacy, and take it all away from him forever.  No matter how many premonitions he has, he will never see them coming.  Matt says his PREEMONITION showed him which of them would come for King Maxel, and he promises he will EAT THEM!  Rosemary says Matt may be used to THAT ONE doing what he says, but they don't follow his rules.  Matt says Brother Nero is here to do his bidding, and wants to know which one of those demons will face his Obsolete Mule.  Abyss says his history with Brother Nero is BEAUTIFUL, so he wants that BROKEN SON OF A BITCH ONE MORE TIME!  Nero baseball slides Abyss under the ropes, and the referee rings the bell to start the match...AFTER THIS BREAK!

Brother Nero vs Abyss

We're back, and Abyss is putting a whupping on Brother Nero as Matt tells Nero that he needs him to DELETE DELETE DELETE!  Nero takes Abyss down and hits the double legdrop to the crotch/basement dropkick combo for 2.  Abyss blocks a Twist of Fate and goes for a chokeslam, but Nero counters that to a Twist of Fate and goes to the top rope, but Matt tells him not to be a spot monkey and to win the match with HONOR.  Jeff dives onto Steve on the floor instead and throws him into the ring, then takes both members of Decay out with a double clothesline.  He takes a chain from Steve, kicks Abyss in the ding ding, and knocks Abyss out with the chain and covers for 2.  Decay tries to double team Jeff, but he clears Steve out and hits a Twist of Fate on Abyss for 2.  Matt suddenly grabs Steve and starts chewing on his face, and that distracts the referee long enough for Rosemary to knock Nero off the top rope and allow Abyss to hit the Black Hole Slam for the win.

Winner: Abyss

Matt isn't happy that his mule let him down, but Steve is laughing it up.  Matt tells Decay that their day of DELETION will come, but he then tells Nero that jumping around like a grasshopper cost him his health and this fight, but he won't allow it to cost him his tag team title.  Nero must learn to accept that he is BROKEN, and to stop fighting him and embrace it.

Maria is backstage chewing Allie out because Sienna has to defend her title tonight, but Billy Corgan comes in and says he made a title defense for Sienna tonight because of the way Maria's been conducting herself.  Sienna says she isn't scared of anyone, and Billy tells her to get ready because she's got a tough test tonight...possibly more than one.

Bobby Lashley finds Mike Bennett backstage and says he's about to find out to be careful what he wishes for.  Bennett says he's beaten everyone he's faced since he got here and isn't intimidated by Lashley, and that he's spending too much time looking past him and should take him seriously.  Lashley says that unlike Bennett, he's beaten everyone here without help, and that it looks to him like Bennett needs to worry about Moose.

Knockouts Title Match: Sienna vs Marti Bell vs Allie vs Madison Rayne vs Jade

Okay, this is basically out second battle royal of the night, and Jade and Marti brawl out to the floor while Sienna trashes Madison Rayne and Allie stands on the side and squeaks.  Marti makes it back in the ring and gets beaten up by Sienna next, but Allie becomes enough of a distraction that Marti takes them both out with a double clothesline.  Jade is in next and takes Sienna out with a superkick, then Allie takes Marti out, JAde hits the chinbreaker on Madison, and Marti gets the baton.  Allie tries to pull it away from her and accidentally swings it into Sienna's face and knocks her out.  Sienna rolls out to the floor, Marti grabs the baton and knocks Allie on top of Madison, then Jade tackles Marti out of the ring as the referee counts three to crown a new Knockouts Champion!

Winner and NEW Knockouts Champion: Allie

Allie wakes up and can't believe she's the champion, and Maria and Sienna can't either.

Aron Rex is backstage saying that EC3 and Drew face off for an opportunity, and opportunities are the reason he's here.  He knows both men well, but at the end of the night, one man will be Bound For Glory...he guarantees it.

We see another preview of the EC3/Drew Burn Notice Summit, and we'll hear the rest of it after this break!

We go backstage where Allie is losing her mind because she can't believe she's the Knockouts Champion, and cna't believe the fans were out there chanting for her!  The cameraman asks what she thinks Maria will say, and Allie suddenly don't look so happy.

Back to Burn Notice, where EC3 asks Drew what his problem is.  Drew says that EC3 cost him the World Title three times, and kept sticking his nose in his business even when he asked him not to.  Drew thinks he's not the World Champion because of EC3, but EC3 says he's not the champion because he lost.  Drew repeats that he asked him as his friend to not get involved, and EC3 says he apologized by giving him what he wants tonight, but Drew says he's going to hit EC3 harder tonight than he ever hit in his life.  EC3 says he'll reciprocate fully, and makes one final toast to his good friend Drew as they cheer the future EC3-time World Champion.  They laugh it up, shake hands, and say how much they're both looking forward to tonight.  Drew shoves EC3 in the pool and says he should know by now not to turn his back on Galloway.  They laugh it up again as the Burn Notice Summit comes to an end.

Bobby Lashley pulls up to Moose as he's walking across the parking lot, and says that he's been where Moose is, and Bennetts going to keep pulling his strings as long as Moose lets him.  He hands Moose a card and offers to meet him for dinner to talk about Moose's future...and he might even let him pick up the tab.

Time for another episode of Fact of Life, and tonight, Eli Drake has the X Division Title and is joined by the five guys left in the Division.  They're going to crown a new champion next week, but instead of asking each of them why they'll win, he wants to know who they think won't have a chance.  Spud starts ranting at Braxton Sutter, and Sutter makes fun of him for having braces and being a crybaby.  Spud runs everyone else down and says he's going to be the champion, but Eli cuts him off and says he's still not convinced any of them have a shot.  DJ Z says Eli doesn't know anything about the X Division, and he won't let Eli or anyone else disrespect it, and that includes Bobby Lashley.  Sooner or later, someone in the X Division is going to beat Lashley, and that man will be DJ Z.  Eli hits the button a few more times, DJ Z dares him to do it again, then flips the desk over and all the X Division guys do their flippy dippy stuff while Eli stands there watching.  Drake teases that he's going to dive, then fakes out, but DJ Z springboards off of him to take out everyone on the floor.  DJ Z holds the belt up and his music plays as all the drama about who will win the X Division Title goes right out the window.

EC3 and Drew Galloway are backstage, and they're...WALKING!  The main event is up after this break!

We're back, special referee Aron Rex is in the ring, and it's...MAIN EVENT TIME!

Winner Gets Bound For Glory Title Shot: Ethan Carter III vs Drew Galloway

Feeling out process to start the match, but tempers quickly flare and they trade blows before hitting the ropes and wiping each other out with stereo crossbody blocks.  Both men are down as we go to commercial.

We're back, and EC3 dropkicks Drew to the floor and goes for a dive, but Drew drills him with a big right hand as he comes through the ropes, then picks EC3 up and gives him an air raid crash on the steel steps.  YEOWCH!  They beat the count, and Drew starts unloading the heavy artillery on EC3.  Drew crushes EC3 with a hard clothesline and covers for 2 before going to a three quarter nelson.  EC3 tries to fire back, but Drew ragdolls EC3 across the ring with an overhead release suplex.  Drew misses a charge, and EC3 hits a Russian legsweep into the corner.  EC3 goes to the top rope, Drew follows him up and goes for a super air raid crash, but EC3 slips out and hits a super powerbomb, picks Drew up when he kicks out, and hits a sitout powerbomb for 2.  That's a lot of power to do that to a guy the size of Drew.  Drew escapes the TK3, but EC3 hits it on the second try.  EC3 hits a Stinger splash, but Drew avoids the follow up and hits the Claymore for 2, then a sitout powerbomb for 2.  They're both up and trading chops, and more chops, and more chops, then EC3 hits a flapjack and sets up for the 1%.  Drew shoves EC3 off and hits the claymore, but EC3 gets his foot on the ropes at 2.  Drew hooks the leg, but it's 2 again.  Drew goes for a tornado Future Shock, but EC3 counters to a hanging 1% for 2.  EC3 goes for another 1%, but Galloway counters to a Tombstone for another close 2.  EC3 dodges another Claymore, blocks the Future Shock, and gets a jackknife rollup for the win.

Winner: Ethan Carter III

That match was AWESOME.  Seriously, make sure you see this if you haven't already.  EC3 shakes Aron Rex's hand and leavfes, then Rex goes to check on Drew and shakes his hand as well, but Drew headbutts Rex into next week, beats the crap out of him, and tosses him out to the floor where he picks him up and rams him back and forth between the rail and the ring apron, then tosses Rex headfirst into the ringpost.  Drew drags the steps away from the ring, picks Rex up, and smashes his face on the steps, then repeatedly bangs his skull into the side of the steps.  Aron Rex is out cold, and Drew Galloway steps on his chest on his way to the back as the show comes to a close.
