MIZ RAILS AWAY ON DANIEL BRYAN, CALLS HIM A COWARD FOR NEVER RETURNING TO THE RING

By Mike Johnson on 2016-08-23 23:33:00

During an episode of "Talking Smack" on the WWE Network following Smackdown, WWE Intercontinental champion The Miz railed away on Daniel Bryan after Bryan described Miz as a wrestler who competes in a cowardly way that represents the "soft WWE Style."

Miz, in one of the best promos of his entire career, ripped apart Daniel Bryan by saying he's been wrestling for ten years and has never taken time off for injuries.  He said a real coward is someone who promises his fans for a year that they will return to the ring but never does.

Bryan responded by saying he would return if "they" let me.  Miz then asked Bryan that if WWE won't let him return, why he doesn't instead just quit WWE and go back to "Bingo Halls" and work the independents, leading to Bryan walking off the set before Miz continued to rant about the lack of respect he receives as the show went off the air.

It's a hell of a scene and certainly, it's going to get people thinking it was an angle to build to Bryan's return as a performer, although whether that was the intent here remains to be seen.

The clip is going to get people talking and if the idea was to get people to pay attention to "Talking Smack", they probably will have accomplished that goal.  You really should see the clip yourself:

In an interview with yours truly the day before Summerslam, Bryan was asked whether he's at peace with having to retire and responded, "Uh...soooo...No. [Laughs]   It's weird, so it's a weird thing.  Like you love something so much but you can't do it but you feel like you can do it.  That's the hard part, you know, so, who knows?  We'll see."

Thanks to Taylor Millard for sending along the clip.
