WWE CHANGES ALL ANNOUNCING TEAMS: LAWLER OUT

By Mike Johnson on 2016-07-20 08:39:00

WWE announced late last night that as part of the "New Era" post WWE Draft that there will be brand new announcing teams on all of their programming.

Raw: Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton.

Smackdown: Mauro Ranallo, JBL and David Otunga.

WWE Superstars: Tom Phillips and Corey Graves.

WWE Main Event: Tom Phillips and David Otunga.

There was no announcement of how, if at all, the WWE NXT announcing team of Tom Phillips and Corey Graves would be changed.

Obviously, the most major move is that WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler, 66, who has been working as an announcer for the company in some capacity since 1992 when he debuted for the company, no longer an announcer on a major WWE series or PPV.  Lawler had been working on the pre-PPV panels of late.  We've heard talk Lawler may be joining the Raw Pre-Show, which airs live on the WWE Network from Stamford, CT on Mondays, but whether that happens, remains to be seen.
