I was watching some ROH from a few years ago and I have to ask - why was Dan Severn brought into the Davey Richards vs. Eddie Edwards feud?  It just seems so random and clunky.  What was the mindset here?

The original idea was for Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock to be in opposite corners to play off of their legitimate UFC feud in the past and to give something of a rub to Richards and Edwards.  Severn made a deal with ROH to come in, while Shamrock never got the deal done, so in the end, only Severn made the appearances.

When someone books an independent talent on a show, do they pay their hotel and airfare like they would with a major former WWE name?

It changes on a case by case basis.  In most cases, talents are booked to appear on indies they can drive to and head home after.  Some promotions may offer travel expenses, but it is certainly not the norm.

What possible reasoning or excuse is there for TNA's horrendous misuse of Kazuchika Okada when he was there in 2011-12?

No in power at the time had half a clue about how talented Okada was, nor did they care to find out.  That was one of the reasons TNA and New Japan's relationship ended.

At one point, Fishbone was scheduled to perform at Wrestlemania 11 but it never happened.  I know you are a big Fishbone fan, so perhaps you've heard what happened there?

A story I've heard in the past from someone who worked at the time as Fishbone's management is that Fishbone was booked on recommendation of someone but when Vince McMahon heard what their rendition of "America The Beautiul" would sounds like, he canceled them off the show and paid them to stay home.

I saw you've been doing a weekly audio feature on different books pertaining to wrestling.  I am young (17) and I'm starting to really enjoy the inside coverage of the business.  What book would you suggest I start reading to enjoy that sort of material?

Honestly, I would start with Mick Foley's first book, since it was the first book that popularized the genre and it's a great, fun, honest read.
