SPLITTING THE ROSTER, PUNK'S UFC THEME, THE RING CREW EXPRESS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-06-30 10:00:00

Why would WWE even consider have their World title holders (Ambrose, The New Day & Charlotte) as draft picks? If the US and Intercontinental Champions are the top titles on a respective brand, and the World Title holders float, it allows for contention and guves each roster something to strive for, plus if the World Champions are only wrestling on House Shows and The Network it makes them more prestigious and special, plus guves fans a reason to PAY to see them. Is there a logical reason other than Vince McMahon's personal preference?

We don't know what WWE will be doing with the champions yet.  I agree with all of your logic here, but it all comes down to what Vince McMahon feels is best for the company.  We will find out on 7/19.

Whatever happened to the Ring Crew Express?

Ring of Honor's Ring Crew Express, Dunn and Marcos, no longer wrestle.  Dunn lives in the Rochester, NY area while Marcos has moved to the Southeast.

If WWE keep contracting older talent as they want some star power for their shows does it mean this 'New Era' will fizzle out as surely they will be pushed down the card and air-time given to veterans for the benefit of ratings?

Not necessarily.  If older talents are used in supporting roles and the focus is on the younger talents, then it's still really about a new era, isn't it?

On the back of that how many wrestlers are ideally needed as a minimum per brand?

I would think 25-30 full-time performers per brand, including female talents, announcers and tag teams.

Chances we hear "Cult of Personality" as CM Punk's UFC theme?

Sure.  Punk used it before WWE in Ring of Honor.  If he wanted to use it in UFC and UFC was willing to pay for the rights, absolutely Punk could use it.  I'd put chances at 50/50.
