WHY WWE IS BUYING CT REAL ESTATE, ROCK TRAILER, STRATUS TALKS BRAND SPLIT, HALL TALKS NXT HOPES & LOTS MORE WWE NEWS

As Dave Scherer mentioned earlier on PWInsider.com, WWE is seeking to purchase real estate Stamford, CT at the former Americares building.  The reason the company is seeking to purchase the facility is that it's TV production studio is already housed there.  The company is offering $3 million beyond the minimum price set for a court-approved sale coordinator.  WWE told the Stamford Advocate: “An opportunity arose that made sense for us to pursue.  If we’re successful in the purchase of the building, WWE would become the building’s landlord and assumes the previous owner’s lease obligations.”

The Rock released a trailer for his Youtube channel, which will launch in July:

At the International Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures Animation confirmed that Surf’s Up 2: Wavemania’ will be released in Spring 2017 (which means expect some sort of tie-in around Wrestlemania 34).   John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H,  Paige and Vince  McMahon will be voicing a group of penguins known as The Hang 5 in the animated feature, which is slated to be released directly to DVD and VOD.

Jan Murphy of The Kingston Whig-Standard interviewed WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall at this link.  It's a great read with Hall discussing his foray into pro wrestling, recovering from his health issues, DDP Yoga's role, going into the WWE Hall and more.  On goals when it comes to returning to WWE, Hall commented, "“My goal is to work at NXT and work with the young talent.  I've always enjoyed working with the young guys and I think that's where I'll be most gifted and be of the most value. But I figure the best thing for me to do is just to continue to keep my shit together and go places and let people see me with my shit together. When my head is clear, my phone rings and opportunities are presented to me all the time. So I'm just keeping my shit together and letting people know it. I'll wait and see what comes from there. I'm not going to flat out ask for a job at this point. I'm kind of hoping it gets offered to me down the road. But I figure the best thing I can do is put myself in a good situation by keeping it together."

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus talks her new movie "Gridlocked" and more with Scott Fishman at Channel Guide Magazine at this link.  On the brand split and Smackdown going live in July, Stratus commented, "I think it’s a great move.  There is just so much talent right now. They need the two platforms to allow them to develop the talent and help shape these characters. With so many talented Superstars on the roster, you can’t have them waiting in the wings forever. Because of NXT and the opportunity they have been given to grow at the Performance Center, there are many ready to go right now.  I know when I was there and we had the brand split, there was excitement within the roster. There is so much more potential for opportunity and with the two brands, interesting things can happen, like the Draft became an interesting element for the fans.  Moving to live is going to be good, too. I know when I was on Raw, I don’t know if it was an internal thing, but that was seen as the A-show. There is nothing like a live performance for the fans and for the performers. I think that combination will be a positive thing.”

WWE Tag Team champion Xavier Woods was interviewed by The Phoenix New Times earlier this week (timed to promote the Raw taping in that market) talking about his career, Cosplay and more at this link.
