BOBBY ROODE MAKES US NXT DEBUT: 6/25 WWE NXT IN COCOA BEACH, FL RESULTS

By Andrew Twiss on 2016-06-25 23:40:00

Here are full results from NXT Live in Cocoa Beach, FL on June 25, 2016.

Andrea D'Marco is your host and ring announcer for the evening.

- Liv Morgan def. Nikki Glencross - Solid opener. Nikki is great at taunting a crowd and getting them to hate her. Her aggression helps the match flow better too. Liv was working hard here too.

- Alexander Wolfe def. Kishan Raftar - Not a particularly good match. Wolfe was going over the top with angry facial expressions and yelling at the crowd in German. He's a solid hand. Raftar is still very green at this point. The match was pretty basic, but Raftar is still sorely lacking in charisma or anything to truly get a crowd behind him or against him.

- Noah def. Steve Cutler - A decent quality match. The crowd is getting behind Noah. It was a hard fought match. Nothing super flashy, but decent.

- Wesley Blake def. Bronson Mathews - Blake is wearing new ring gear, with the emphasis on neon and boot tassels. He also has new music. The match itself was fine. Bronson looked solid in spots and other times a little lost. He definitely has a good look. The funniest moment of the match involved Bronson grabbing Blake by the tights to throw him into the ropes. The only problem was that it caused Blake's tights to ride so far up, that Blake was basically mooning the crowd. It definitely got a reaction. Blake was working as a face for the match and used a reverse frog splash for the win.

- Andrade Cien Almas def. Angelo Dawkins - A surprisingly fun little match. Dawkins is never going to get to the next level based on a lot of fancy moves. It's not his game. What he has mastered, is the art of the trash talk. He can absolutely work a crowd up with just a headlock or front facelock. He knows how to get a crowd to hate him, and that's an incredibly underrated talent. He and Almas worked a good match though. Almas looked very crisp in there too.

- Oney Lorcan def. Tino Sabbatelli - A decent match. Tino is growing every time he is in the ring. Match was decent, but a little short. It never felt like they had time to hit another gear.

- Andrea D'Marco came out to talk about the growth of the Women's Division. She introduced one of the newest NXT signees, Bianca Blair. Blair described herself as bringing the "est" to NXT. She said she is the prettiest, the strongest, and the baddest. It was ok stuff, but these promos where they bring out new, non tv, talent usually die on the vine with crowds that are unfamiliar with them. It didn't help Bianca that Andrea D'Marco was stumbling over her lines or was so rehearsed and scripted as to not really follow up on anything Blair said.

- Daria Berenato def. Billie Kay - Billie's back! This was decent stuff, but like some of the other matches, never really found that next gear to draw the crowd in. Billie looked decent, but the lack of recent ring time showed. Daria looked good though.

- Mojo Rawley and TM 61 def. The Authors of Pain and Bobby Roode. - Yes, Bobby Roode make his first appearance on the NXT Florida loop. He was working full blown heel with the Authors of Pain. He looked really solid in there and has great Queen-esque theme music. The match itself was fun. The Authors look so intimidating with smaller guys like TM-61 in there. The end came with TM-61 hitting their finisher on Roode for the pin.

Notes:

- WWE sent out a tweet a couple of days ago, advertising and appearance by Finn Balor. As you can tell by the results, he did not appear. The tweet was deleted earlier and it was never mentioned to the live crowd.

- Also, despite NXT not running another show against this, most of the major TV roster did not appear on this card. None of the champions made appearances either. I'm not complaining, I just found it interesting.

- Tonight marked the in ring return for Billie Kay, who has not competed since mid to late March.

- This also marks the Florida debut for Bobby Roode under the NXT banner.

- The meet and greet before the show was: Dan Matha. Bronson Mathews and Aliyah

- NXT returns to Cocoa Beach on July 23.
