According to a report on Jason Powell's ProWrestling.net, WWE will begin running split Raw and Smackdown PPVs this Fall with two "PPV" events for all months except the months featuring major PPVs - Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania and Summerslam. The report is based on comments Jerry Lawler made to fans at a signing over the weekend in Metropolis, IL.
While PWInsider.com has not independently confirmed the report, the belief among sources within WWE at the time the planned July split was announced was that the company would add additional Network specials/PPVs to accomodate the split roster.
