WWE PERSONALITIES ON HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME, WHERE VIRGIL HANGS HIS HAT, AJ TURNING ON CENA AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-06-03 10:00:00

With Virgil at all these shows selling his wares, it made me wonder, where the hell does he live?

Virgil lives in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Do any WWE personalities have stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?

Vince McMahon has one.  If you want to expand the scope to those who had runs of interest in the company, Cyndi Lauper has one.  WWE celebrity Hall of Famers Arnold Schwarzenegger, Drew Carey and Donald Trump do as well.

For years NJPW have allowed the IWGP champions be promoted on other brands in North America.  It has helped NJPW become a recognized name across the world and helped promote many wrestlers that are currently big names. Could NXT as a brand be used as a way to cross promote?  The GCS Championship is commissioned for this tournament to which the winner can use to promote themselves, get a WWE rub on the other promotions, give NXT a development system within an existing framework and be something fresh.  Companies can use the title for storyline, so long as it has WWE approval or the participants in the feud be two people obviously on WWE radar or touring contracts.

I think we are seeing this already with EVOLVE using the WWE Cruiserweight Classic name in their upcoming "Flashpoint" match and a number of promotions getting highlights of their qualifying matches uploaded to WWE's Youtube account as well as WWE.com articles.  Beyond that, I don't see WWE doing more.  They are obviously going to want to control how their name and trademarks are utilized.

When AJ came out to confront Cena I thought, "thats strange he's wearing black/silver instad of black/blue/white", thats strange The Club colors.  Not since Trish turned on Jericho to join Christian did a thought like that cross my mind.  But like that turn I totally bought that AJ was actually prepping to side with Jericho.  Up until I saw AJ's stance and his eyes tracing John I was totally fooled.   Did you see this coming?  How did you feel about how the turn was pulled off?

I thought the angle was great.  I didn't put much thought into Styles' colors but in hindsight, it makes sense, so it was a good call.  The segment worked and no one saw it coming, which is the mark of a great angle.  Cena vs. Styles is a match I am very much looking forward to.

I know you are a big Broadway guy.  I hate to break it to you but Slammiversary is the same night and time as the Tony Awards.  So, what are you going to do?

I'll be covering Slammiversary and probably grumbling the entire time as I don't want to be spoiled, but I'm fine with watching the Tonys after.
