HAD BRAY NOT GOTTEN INJURED, RANTING ON TNA, KAMALA VS. HOGAN AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-05-20 10:00:00

Do you think that had Bray Wyatt not been injured he would be feuding with Reigns instead of AJ?

Anything is possible, but I have not heard anything that would have supported that was the plan, even before Wyatt was injured on the European tour.

I saw that after your awesome 20 minute Elite rant on the state of TNA and the fact they weren't even trying to promote their One Night Only PPV this weekend, that TNA suddenly added a commercial on Youtube and material on their website, so do you think they were aware of what you said about their "laziness" and whether the Elite hotline led to them actually, you know, doing their job?

I know for a fact that people in the company heard what I had to say on my audio hotline yesterday.  I won't take credit for them actually promoting their own PPV but the timing is a little interesting.  I do know that I heard back from a LOT of people who work for TNA in the last 24 hours, so they were more than aware of what I had to say.

I was going through old magazines and there's one where Kamala has Hulk Hogan's head on a pike.  Do you know if they ever received a backlash over that?  At the time, wrestling was for kids and I remember being 8 and shocked and scared of the image.

I am pretty sure that was a magazine published by the Pro Wrestling Illustrated family at the time.  I was probably 12 at the time and do remember the exact image you are speaking of.  I've never heard they received any sort of backlash from anyone - at the time, they probably didn't have a professional relationship with WWF so they were just doing what they could to sell magazines.

That said, I am very curious to see the Hogan-Kamala matches.  Do any exist?

There were several that were taped.  They had a two match series in Madison Square Garden.  I know there was a Hogan-Kamala match in Boston that was up on the WWE Network as well.  They did about 2-3 months of house shows together in late 1986/early 1987.  Speaking of Kamala, he has an excellent autobiography that is worth reading.  For more on that, click here.

Any update in Jushin Liger after he nearly died in Chicago?

Well, he returned to the ring in limited capacity in NYC and Toronto last week and is scheduled for the Best of Super Juniors tournament, so he's cleared to work.  That was a pretty damn scary moment, to be sure.
