Who runs Smackdown? I mean the whole story has been ‘who gets to run Raw’ but failing 1 UK appearance from Shane McMahon on Smackdown in a month, the show has had no authority figure. Are the audience meant to guess Shane/Steph run it despite it being never mentioned? Or that it books itself?

WWE has made it really clear that Smackdown is clearly the number two program. Hell, when the future was on the line at WrestleMania, Smackdown was never mentioned, just Raw. So that tells you all you need to know.

How does it make business sense for Evolve to allow EC3 and Drew Galloway trash WWE on the same show that they host Cruiserweight Classic matches for WWE? It makes no sense to me? Has their relationship with WWE deteriorated?

Invasion angles historically build and audience and draw money. It sure did get people talking. That is what their goal was and it looks like it worked.

Kevin Owens at Payback. Man, he looked strong. His match was great as expected but I thought the promo after the match with Byron was excellent. It had the right mix of passion, anger, energy and self-righteousness - it was believable. He was even great on commentary (with an added touch of humour). Was I the only one that thought Payback was the Kevin Owens show?

You are not. Many people I spoke with were very impressed with Owens at Mania, myself included. He is one of the best things WWE has going right now.

Had WCW won the war what wrestling product do you reckon we would be looking at today?

Had they won, it would have been in the mid 90s when WWE was on the ropes. If WWE went under, WCW would have had their pick of the talent. Maybe ECW could have gotten a deal with USA. But unless WCW had gotten a lot more profitable Time Warner would have still divested themselves with as they were getting bought out by AOL. AOL did not like underperforming units. Given how WCW backslid when the nWo angle fell apart, I think if they won the war they would have still gone out of business and then who knows, maybe Vince McMahon comes back.

What are your expectations for the Global Cruiserweight Series tournament?

I think we are going to see a lot of guys working hard to make the most of their chance. I expect a lot of good matches and am looking forward to it.
