DID EVOLVE BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS THEM?, WORST JERICHO STORYLINE, BEHIND THE SCENES FOOTAGE IN WWE LIBRARY & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-05-13 10:00:00

So I'm watch this video from Evolve with EC3 and Gallows, and I've got to wonder if this angle is going to hurt Evolve's relationship with WWE. To me it comes off really bad, Evolve takes the time to build up a relationship with WWE, and now they have this angle with EC3 and Gallows coming in to crap talk WWE. Did they shoot themselves in the foot here?

Gabe Sapolsky is a lot of things, but stupid enough to bite the hand that feeds him?   No.   He's taking a page out of the Paul Heyman playbook, where you do something that looks so outrageous that people start to assume you are rebelling, but the reality is that the appearance and the angle were never going to be an issue.  Galloway has been with EVOLVE for well over a year, by the way.  No one shot themselves in the foot.  They just crafted a great moment that got fans talking about their product.  As a booker, that's Sapolsky's job.

I'm watching the Paul Heyman documentary on the WWE Network and there is a ton of behind-the-scenes footage shown such as guys trying to cut promos or even just conversations between Paul and talent, which is very fascinating to see. Is that kind of material part of all video libraries WWE has purchase and do you see there being a market for collections of such footage from WWE, WCW, ECW and etc. making its way onto the network?

In the case of the ECW footage, it's just that the cameras were rolling and the material was saved, so when WWE purchased the library, they found the material.  Without a search of the company's video library, I can't say 100% whether there is that sort of material in the libraries that WWE acquired over the years, but it's certainly possible and while I don't think we'll see it specifically placed on the Network, certainly it could be used when they create original programming and documentaries.  In the "True Story of Wrestlemania" documentary, there is some behind the scenes footage from rehersals of Wrestlemania 9 in Las Vegas off the top of my head, so certainly we could see more down the line, when it fits the story WWE is presenting.

Which is worse, the Ambrose-Jericho feud devolving into the centerpiece being the destruction of a potted plant, named Mitch, or the HHH-Jericho feud devolving into the centerpiece being Stephanie's poodle?

I don't think anything could be stupider than one where the reigning and defending (and UNIFIED!) WWE champion is reduced to picking up dog poop for Stephanie McMahon.

What's with the latest on why the WWE released several main roster talents? I thought the WWE just lets contracts expire.

They obviously wanted to clear some money off of the books as they head into the latest financial quarter.  This has been the first such blood-letting in terms of massive releases in several years.

I read where Cameron is longer with WWE. Is this true?

Obviously it is true if he we reported it on PWInsider.   Read the site!

Did TNA fire their web developers?  Why do they have two different web designs?

I believe Josh Mathews is now in charge of the TNA website.  Bill Banks, who had been heading that up, works in another area of the company now, I believe on editing the TNA TV shows and DVDs.
