I've seen it bandied about that TNA still owes Bobby Roode and Eric Young six figures? How long is this going to keep going on?
I can't tell you, because it's not true. While TNA certainly owed them money at times, I am told the talents were all caught up by the time they finished out their TNA deals.
There is a massive rumor that all these Ring of Honor talents are leaving the company. Anything to that?
Beyond Roderick Strong and Moose, based on my notes, all the current top ROH talents are locked into deals that don't expire anytime soon. Rosters never stay the same year to year but all of the company's current key players, with the exception of the aforementioned, to the best of my knowledge, are signed. Even if talents have deals expiring in the near future, that doesn't mean they aren't going to sign new deals, either.
Is it true Adam Cole is NXT-bound?
Not at this time, no. See above answer.
I heard you on Jim Ross' podcast and you said TNA has to change their name. I think that after 14 years, it would be stupid to do so. How is changing their name the answer?
I didn't say they have to. I said I think they should. That's not the concrete answer on changing things and turning the ship around, but it's a step forward in the right direction. One of TNA's biggest issues is the reputation it has cultivated. It's an anchor around their neck. When you look at the current Impact show is week to week, it's pretty damn good and on some weeks, it's better than Raw, Smackdown or NXT. But, there's a portion of audience that has been burned so many times, they are done. There is also a rep for "TNA" where people just assume the worst, sometimes without even watching at this point. TNA's biggest issue (beyond finances, obviously) are their past mistakes - and the brand is DOA in a lot of ways. What I suggested is doing an angle similar to the classic angle in World Class, where Eric Embry ends up changing the name of the company to USWA. It's not impossible to rebrand the company and try and build goodwill but it's going to take years and can't be a kneejerk thing that you expect to change perceptions in 5 weeks. We are talking something that could take years to perfect, if it can happen at all.
How many Jushin Ligers have there been? That can't be the guy who wrestled Brian Pillman working ROH.
One. It's the same guy.
