BY THE NUMBERS: LOOKING AT THE WEEK IN WRESTLING FROM WWE, ROH, AND TNA

By Richard Trionfo on 2016-05-04 08:52:00

Another week without Ring of Honor means another week where we struggle to get three total hours of wrestling on the six qualifying shows.  This week we had 170 minutes of wrestling, down six minutes from last week.  Even without Ring of Honor, this was the third straight week that the totals for six shows was more than the last time there were seven shows.

Raw won the week with 43 minutes of wrestling, down nine minutes from last week.  Impact finished in second place with 41 minutes, up eleven minutes from last week.  This is the first time in six weeks that they broke the forty minute barrier.  Smackdown and NXT tied for third place with 24 minutes of wrestling.  Smackdown was down thirteen minutes from last week while NXT was down one minute.  Main Event stayed steady with 23 minutes of wrestling to finish in fifth place.  Sixth place went to Superstars with 15 minutes of wrestling, up six minutes from last week.

The fifteen minutes of wrestling on Superstars was the most on an episode of Superstars since the week of September 16, 2013.

This week saw the total amount of WWE wrestling pass 36,000 minutes while Raw passed 12,100 minutes, and Impact passed 9,100 minutes.

This week’s Ring of Honor episode featured matches from Honor Rising.  The matches on this week’s show were Jay and Mark Briscoe versus Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows and Bad Luck Fale, Yujiro Takahashi, Tama Tonga, and Cody Hall versus Moose, Michael Elgin, Tomoaki Honma, and Hiroshi Tanahashi.

I will be starting a new feature for 2016.  Since a the times for the matches can be a little misleading because the counts are only for the time on the show and does not factor the commercial breaks.  Starting with this week, if there is a [c] next to a match, it means that there was a commercial break.
