WHERE THINGS STAND WITH RYBACK AND WWE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-05-03 14:37:00

For those who have asked about the WWE-Ryback situation, the former WWE Intercontinental champion's current contract expires in late July/early August.  He and WWE have been negotiating a new deal for months but have been far off on money, based on what we have heard from multiple sources.

We are told that Ryback had a meeting early yesterday with WWE head Vince McMahon but the two sides were unable to come to terms, which led to Ryback being pulled from his scheduled appearance on Raw.  One source has been adamant that Ryback personally asked to be taken off the road until the two sides came to an agreement.  He was not backstage during Raw and flew home to Las Vegas.

Unless the two sides come to some sort of compromise, Payback may have been Ryback's final match with the company.  He had been publicly outspoken about being unhappy with his position in the company, noting in interviews that he wasn't happy with his positioning the last several Wrestlemanias.

Ryback had been signed to the company since 2006 when he inked a developmental deal.
