CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FROM HOLLYWOOD COASTLINE CLASH NOW ON FITE APP, COMPLETE DETAILS ON NEXT TV TAPING

By Mike Johnson on 2016-05-02 09:54:00

Championship Wrestling from Hollywood will present their next free TV Taping on Sunday 5/15 at the at the Oceanview Pavillon (575 S Surfside Dr, Port Hueneme, CA 93041), taping several episodes for their TV series which airs on KDOC-TV in Los Angeles, nationally on You Too and is now streaming on FITE TV.

The latest episodes for the series feature the debut edition of CWH's newest supershow "Coastal Clash", which will now be paired with the company's annual "Red Carpet Rumble" as marquee events for the company.   To inaugurate the new event, the So-Cal promotion’s mega-card included a defense of all three of their major championships, a 2-out-of-3 falls grudge match and a full-scale 5-on-5 war that pitted the locker room against Venom, the promotion's heel faction.

Highlights included:

*“Pretty” Peter Avalon retained the Hollywood Heritage Championship title (and reclaimed the championship belt!), defeating Sasha Darevko, who does an old school Russian heel gimmick.  The story was that Darevko had stolen the belt out of jealousy.  The bout featured Scorpio Sky as the referee and teased Sky vs. Avalon with a faceoff after Sky raisded Avalon's hand.

*James Morgan retained his TV championship in an open challenge against the debuting Alexander Hammerstone.  The idea here was that Morgan was rebounding after his manager Stu Stone, a staple here, was run out after being destroyed by Bateman and Jarek 1:20.

*The Friendship Express, Hobo and Jervis Cottonbelly (of CHIKARA fame, now a regular here after moving to California) defeated Cold Cold World to win the belts.  The storyline had been that Jervis had been looking for a partner and found one in Hobo, a character who is well, exactly what you would think.

*Big Duke defeated TNA star Eli Drake in a best of three falls match.  Drake has been a regular here since before his run on TNT's "The Hero" reality series.  This was a blowoff to the back and forth feud between the two with the idea of using Drake's credibility to give Duke the rub with the big win.

*The main event of the show saw Team CWH, lead by JR Kators, defeat Vermin, a heel group that has been one of the major antagonists over the last several years for the promotion.  JR Kratos, Drew Gulak & Timothy Thatcher (who team regularly here_ and Reno Scum (Luster The Legend and Adam Thornstowe) defeated Team Vermin, featuring Joey Ryan, Kevin Martenson, Johnny Yuma, Bad Dude Tito and Ryan Taylor.  With the stable defeated, it leaves CWH with a number of options for the 5/15 taping as Yuma and Tito having issues led to the beginning of the end for Vermin in the match.

*The show also featured the first women's bout in CWH in years as Kamora (a very fit wrestler of Asian descent) defeated Ashley Grace.  There was also an angle where Eric Watts (from the USA Network's lone season of Tough Enough) continued a build to a match against Rocky Romero, wiping out  “American Kaiju” (great nickname) Devin Sparks’ young boys, Ichi and Ni.  Watts is managed by Ty Matthews, a heel claiming to be the master of "hyperoptimism."
