THE NXT TITLE CHANGE, TURNING NIKITA, WWE BUYING TNA AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-04-23 10:00:00

When Magnum TA was in his car accident, who made the decision to turn Nikita Koloff?  How did they keep it from getting out?

According to his autobiography, Nikita Koloff stated that Jim Crockett and Dusty Rhodes told him during a secret meeting when he returned from a Japanese tour with All Japan.  He arrived at the venue at 9 PM that night and hid before going to the babyface locker room.  He said that only he, Dusty and Crockett knew the plan and he was instructed to not even tell his partner, Ivan Koloff.

Why would The NXT Title  change hands at an untelevised event. I realize the weekly show is a couple weeks behind the live events but it seems to me it would have made a lot more sense for Finn to drop the belt at the last Takeover as opposed to what happened the other night in Lowell, MA?

There's a few reasons. One, having something "major" happen on a live event gives the impression that "every" show is important and a can't miss event, as opposed to a wasted show that means nothing to the brand.  Two, WWE could film the footage and put it online to drive Youtube views and WWE website traffic, both of which make the company money.  Third, it's entirely possible that WWE made the call not to change the belt at Takeover when Joe was busted upen and the momentum of the bout was slowed, pushing the title change back.

Here’s a question that I’m not sure you’ve answered before: Why do you think Vince hasn’t stepped in and tried to purchase TNA? They’ve got a pretty decent library and some talents there that would be great either on the main roster or in NXT. Is it a monopoly thing?

It has nothing to do with a potential monopoly.  It has to do with Dixie Carter not, as of this writing, wanting to shut down and sell the company off.  If she was interested in doing that, WWE would certainly at least inquire about the tape library, just as they would ROH and any other promotion with a lengthy library.

What timeline would you give for there to be a physical WWE Hall of Fame?

I have no idea how far along on the idea, but I'd be shocked if there isn't one in the next decade.

Whatever happened to the Red Rooster?

Terry Taylor works as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center, acting as something of a finishing Coach, helping talents polish themselves when they reach a top status internally as a developmental performer.

Why is it that Byron Saxton is on both RAW and SmackDown?

WWE management wants him there.
