WHEN SUSPENDED STAR WILL RETURN TO WWE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-04-17 18:44:00

Titus O'Neil is scheduled to return to the road from his 60 day suspension with WWE at the 4/25 Raw taping in Hartford, CT, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

O'Neil was suspended for unprofessional conduct following the 2/9 Daniel Bryan retirement ceremony in Seattle, Washington.  During the ending of that episode's taping, a number of WWE personalities and staff were assembled on the stage in honor of the retiring Bryan Danielson.

At the end of that segment, which aired on Raw before going live on the WWE Network, Danielson returned to the locker room after passing through the center of the assembled WWE personnel.  As WWE talents returned to the back, O'Neill grabbed WWE owner Vince McMahon by the arm in a plaful way.  McMahon responded by shoving O'Neil away. McMahon's shove of O'Neill actually made it onto the final seconds of the broadcast but was later removed from the footage online and on the WWE Network.

When O'Neil arrived at Smackdown the next night, he was informed he was going sent home.  The original suspension was 90 days but was later cut down to 60 days.  O'Neil privately apologized to the company, which they released in a text to the New York Post when stories accusing racism being at the center of the suspension were written by that publication.

O'Neil, 39, signed with WWE in 2009 and is best known as one half of the Prime Time Players, although he's been used most recently in a singles role. He's been very active in local community outreach where he lives in Tampa.   He is the centerpiece talent of a current promotional contest, where the winner gets to visit Universal Studios with O'Neil's family.
