BAYLEY'S FUTURE, RICK RUDE ON COMMENTARY, SHANE VS. TAKER AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-04-14 10:00:00

With Bayley no longer NXT Womens Champion will this lead to her moving up to either Raw or Smackdown in the very near future?

It could, but we aren't hearing that is the plan right now.  Her storyline is pursuing the NXT Women's championship and getting it back.

Do you have any update on how the Tough Enough contestants from last year's series are getting on? I noticed that all 3 of the women, Sara Lee, Amanda and Daria, are regularly wrestling now on the NXT Florida house shows but outside of Patrick popping up a couple of times I haven't seen that any of the guys, Josh, Mada or ZZ have actually wrestled yet. Are any of the 7 any good and likely to show up on the NXT TV show anytime soon?

You haven't been paying attention to the NXT live reports posted here on the site!  With the exception of Mada, they have all made appearances in the ring.  They are coming along, slow but sure, which is exactly why they are in developmental.  There's no timetable for them to debut on WWE NXT TV.

The Shane McMahon vs Undertaker match at Wrestlemania...Was that the planned outcome of the match and storyline from the start? Talk about anticlimactic. Honestly I felt like the match itself was kind of a letdown as well, other than Shane's insane bump off the top of the cell, but even that was something that we saw coming when the Hell in a Cell stipulation was first announced. No run ins, no surprises, just a fairly standard HIAC match aside from the big bump. Your thoughts?

That was the planned outcome.  It's pretty obvious that Shane McMahon got really banged up in the match.  As far as it being anti-climactic, I was there live and in Dallas, the audience went nuts for it, including the aftermath.  I think the bout was OK but the creative leading in and out didn't make much sense.

With the popularity of Total Divas why is it that in 99% of the car scenes the individuals are not wearing seat belts properly? Its just a matter of time before something happens. With the recent death of football player Tray Walker you would think that they would be more alert to the potential injuries that can occur to a superstar.

I am 100% with you on the seatbelt thing.  I would have died in 2001 in a car wreck had I not been wearing my belt.  As far as the scenes, it could quite possibly be that they aren't really driving and like other TV series, they are actually just sitting in a car that's being filmed as it's on the back of a flatbed truck.

What did you think of Rick Rude's color commentary skills based on his 1997 stint in ECW?

I thought he was OK.  I know that he would knock everything out in one shot without having to have a bunch of re-takes when filming and voicing over material, but his biggest weakness was the same a lot of wrestlers have when transitioning over - he was great at getting himself over but that didn't always translate to having the knack to getting others over.

Where do you think TNA would be at this point if they had done these 4 things differently: held off on the Angle/Joe feud to allow it to build, kept pushing Samoa Joe the way NXT is now, showcased Styles & the X-Division in the upper card consistently, and not given control to Hogan & Bischoff?

It might be in the exact same boat, but with a lot more fans pulling for it.
