3/13 PROGRESS WRESTLING 'ENDVR 15' LIVE REPORT FROM LONDON

By Ian Perry on 2016-03-13 22:56:00

Progress Wrestling "Endvr 15" show at The Garage, London.

ENDVR is to PROGRESS, what NXT is to WWE. Smaller shows in a smaller venue, with less experienced wrestlers.  Here's some quick results.

MIKE BIRD vs. PAUL ROBINSON

Robinson has a LOT of experience, both on main PROGRESS shows and for other promotions; and is a great hand for helping the rookies develop. I'm not personally familiar with Mike Bird, so don't know anything about him.

Robinson has been feuding with "Wild Boar" Mike Hitchman in ENDVR and the end of this match saw Robinson beat Bird, continue to attack him after the finish, and Hitchman make the save.

WINNER: PAUL ROBINSON

DND (Danny Duggan & Cieran Donnelly) vs. JACK SEXSMITH & THE GIMP

DND are making their débuts for PROGRESS tonight and immediately turned the crowd against them by cutting a promo criticising the crowd for seemingly never asking PROGRESS management to hire them. Not that they needed to turn the crowd against them, as Sexsmith is hugely popular. Recent shows have seen him take to bringing a Gimp out with him; and tonight saw the Gimp make his in-ring début.

This was mostly comedy spots, with DND being disgusted with Sexsmith's antics. The turning point came with a bit of "gimp magic"; which saw Sexsmith bundle the Gimp out of the ring, and a bigger and more athletic Gimp take his place.

Not that it helped though as, ultimately, both Gimps ended up in view of referee Marc Parry, who sent the new Gimp out, resulting in DND getting the pin on Gimp #1.

WINNERS: DND

ELIZABETH (w/ Jinny) vs. BEA PRIESTLEY

Priestley is a young New Zealander making her début. Elizabeth is the "personal assistant" of ultra heel Jinny, who has slowly been resisting Jinny's instructions over the past few shows.

Elizabeth got the win here via submission in a fairly quick match that seemed like it was more to further the eventual split between Elizabeth and her "boss".

WINNER: ELIZABETH

THE DAZZLER TEAM (Darrell Allen & Earl Black Jr) & TK COOPER (w/ Dahlia Black) vs. SWEET JESUS (Chuck Mambo & Pastor William Eaver) & DAMON MOSER

Both teams seemed to work well, with lots of frequent tagging and double-team moves. A particular highlight being Cooper, Allen and Black being on the floor; and Moser stopping Eaver and Mambo doing their traditional spot - Eaver pretends to dive, stops and poses, and Mambo dives over him - as he wanted to do the Eaver pose.

This teamwork continued until the closing moments, which saw Moser tag himself in and get the pin; whilst staring down his potential Natural Progression Series opponent Eaver.

WINNERS: SWEET JESUS & DAMON MOSER

This took us to the interval, with the second half of the show opening with the following bout.

DAVID FRANCISCO vs. "WILD BOAR" MIKE HITCHMAN

Hitchman was still carrying the chain he stole from Robinson earlier in the show. The match was okay, if nothing spectacular.

Midway through, Robinson came out and set a chair up on the stage and watched for a while; before coming into the ring and using the chair to hit Francisco, causing Hitchman to lose by disqualification.

After some brawling, Glen Joseph - who was pulling double duty by being both ring announcer and commentator tonight - announced that the pair would square off in a Chain Match at the next ENDVR show.

WINNER: DAVID FRANCISCO

"Bodyguy" Roy Johnson - a champion powerlifter turned wannabe rapper pro wrestler - had his "Wasteman Challenge" next, where anyone from the locker room was invited to come and try their luck against him. After he performed a song, though.

"BODYGUY" ROY JOHNSON vs. KYLE ASHMORE

Ashmore showed some fire but ultimately lost to the Bodyguy. After cutting a promo praising Johnson, Ashmore hit him with a jumping knee, assaulted him, and cut a scathing promo about how the PROGRESS fans never respected him and never gave him any chances, and how he's not going to let someone like Johnson "take his spot".

WINNER: ROY JOHNSON

To be honest, Ashmore needed this. His character has never seemed fully formed; so seeing him with a specific purpose was a welcome change. Hopefully we'll see more from this side of Kyle Ashmore.

JINNY (w/ Elizabeth) vs. LEVA BATES

Bates was making her PROGRESS début tonight - in a Rylo Ken inspired outfit - against, perhaps, the top of PROGRESS' Women's division, Jinny.

Jinny distracted the referee at one point, expecting Elizabeth to attack Bates, but instead Elizabeth just rolled Bates back into the ring. The end saw Bates go for a Pepsi Plunge, but Jinny reverse it for the win.

WINNER: JINNY

Jinny demanded Elizabeth spray her hairspray into Bates' eyes but - as you can imagine - Elizabeth refused. During their post-match argument, Jinny went to slap Elizabeth who blocked it.

Elizabeth didn't strike Jinny at any point; and the slow build towards their eventual complete split carries on.

Overall, a good - albeit perhaps not great - show; which is to be expected with a show of younger wrestlers still finding their feet.
