LATEST ON WWE CONCUSSION LAWSUITS

By Mike Johnson on 2015-07-13 19:57:24
WWE filed a new motion today in regard to the lawsuit the estate of the late Nelson Frazier Jr. brought against them in the United States District Court of Tennessee, in regard to their attempt to bring that lawsuit to the courts in Connecticut.

In the brief, WWE noted that the California lawsuit brought by Ryan Sakoda, Russ McCullough, and Matt Wiese were officially sent to CT by the court on 7/1 and since Frazier was a member of the "putative (similar) plaintiff class" of the California case, that the Frazier case should be sent on to CT for the same reasons.

WWE has also succeeded in moving the case brought by Billy Jack Haynes in Oregon to Connecticut, which they also mentioned in today's filing, as well as a case initially filed in PA by Vito LoGrasso and former WWE developmental talent Evan Singleton.

WWE filed a preemptive lawsuit against Koko B. Ware, Blackjack Mulligan, Ivan Koloff and Dynamite Kid several weeks ago, claiming that everyone bringing lawsuits against them are being targeted and misled by their attorney Konstantine W. Kyros.

WWE is attempting to have all the legal cases heard in Connecticut as their talent contracts agree that any legal matters would be heard in the Nutmeg State, where WWE is headquartered. Under CT law, many, if not all the claims being brought against WWE would likely be time-barred.
