WWE TAPING SMACKDOWN IN BILOXI, NEW WRESTLEMANIA BOOK RELEASED, ROSS ON BROCK, FLAIR, FOLEY AND MORE WWE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2014-09-16 09:00:00
WWE will tape Smackdown and broadcast Main Event tonight from Biloxi, MS. Already announced for Smackdown is WWE Tag Team champions The Usos & The Big Show vs. The Wyatt Family. If anyone is attending the taping, we are seeking spoiler results.

Talents from Wildkat Sports were used as security last night during the brawl between John Cena and Brock Lesnar on Raw.

Jim Ross wrote a really good blog for FOXSports.com looking at Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Ross, who signed Lesnar to WWE, noted that Lesnar's one demand was that the company also sign Shelton Benjamin to a developmental deal as well. To read the piece, click here.

The synopsis for this weekend's episode of "Total Divas" on E! - "Brie and Bryan's wrestling careers are in jeopardy, and Brie's attempt to save their future puts Nikki in a tough spot with John. Meanwhile, Rosa fails miserably at reconciling two enemies, and the wedding standoff between Eva's father and husband comes to a head."

WWE noted on Raw that the Stephanie McMahon workout DVD would be released this December.

The top bouts advertised locally for the 9/26 WWE event at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford are John Cena vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton in a Street Fight.

The locally advertised main event for the WWE Raw taping on 10/6 in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center is Roman Reigns & John Cena vs. Randy Orton & Seth Rollins.

Mick Foley appeared on Me-TV's "Svengoolie" over the weekend in an interview that was filmed at C2E2, a big Chicago comic book convention. The short interview plugged Foley's documentary "I Am Santa" which will be out this November as well as Foley's comedy tour.

Ric Flair appeared as himself in a pro wrestling themed story on Cartoon Network's "Uncle Grandpa" basically having cameos as an animated version of himself, one of many characters (the rest fictional) discussing an insanely weird wrestling match purported as the "craziest match of all time."

The new "30 Years of Wrestlemania" book released by DK Publishing is officially out today. I had a chance to peruse a copy that arrived yesterday and it's very slickly put together, starting with a look at where the wrestling business was that set Wrestlemania into motion, then a look at each and every event, including a recap of each match with comments from competitors, celebrities (including Donald Trump, Mike Tyson and Joan Rivers) who were involved and more, including some pretty rare photos. If you like the WWE book presentations, you'll love this. You can order the book by clicking here.

The official promotional material for the book reads:
