WWE MAY LOSE NORTH CAROLINA TAX BREAK

By Mike Johnson on 2014-04-27 09:06:49
The Charlotte Observer featured a piece on potential tax breaks for TV and film productions shooting in North Carolina being potentially eliminated as the current program is slated to end at the end of 2014.

Lawmakers are expected to debate over whether the program should continue and if so, in what form. The tax breaks have led to a lot of major feature films shooting in the State, including the first "Hunger Games" film.

It's interesting to note that according to the Charlotte Observer article, a current draft of the new program would eliminate cutbacks for Late-night shows, reality TV and wrestling.

According to the piece, WWE tapings in 2010 and 2011 claimed more than $570,000 in credits. WWE's Tara Carrano noted in the article that should the tax breaks be eliminated, the company would still film in NC.
