WHAT THE NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH UTA MEANS TO TNA, WHERE NEGOTIATIONS FOR IMPACT'S TV DEAL STAND, NO MATTER WHAT HE IMPLIES ERIC BISCHOFF IS STILL UNDER CONTRACT TO TNA AND MORE

By Dave Scherer on 2014-04-24 18:13:23

Today's announcement of TNA signing with UTA is a huge deal for the company and people there are said to be very happy with it.  UTA is now representing TNA in pretty much all aspects for the company, including working on a new deal for Impact in the US.  Part of the reason we haven't heard much concerning the TV deal, obviously, is that WWE hasn't settled their TV situation but the other side of the story is that TNA has been working on this deal and wanted to get UTA in place to negotiate for them.  In the past, it had been done in house.  Now, UTA will be doing it for the company.  From what I have been told, UTA is confident that they can get a deal for Impact, be it with Spike or another network.  This agreement could be a game changer for TNA.  UTA is also expected to try brand TNA's talents, with appearances on TV brand building, exposure, etc.

In case you missed it, Eric Bischoff went insane on Twitter a few days ago when we reported that he was still involved with TNA as part of the creative process.  He went nuts saying that we got the story wrong, but didn't say why.  He was trying to make people think it's because he was not involved with TNA because that is how he operates.  What he was referring to was my report that I heard that there is less than three months left on his deal.  From what I have been told since, there are more than three months left (but not much more).  But it is 100 percent true that he is still a consultant for the product until that contract ends and from what I have been told, his ideas are not being incorporated into the product.

As Mike mentioned on his hotline a few days ago, former WWE VP Doug LeBow is in TNA after working for more than a decade in WWE with John Gaburick.  That is a good get for TNA as LeBow brings a lot of experience to the company and has worked closely with Gaburick for years.  He will provide support for the company which you have to remember doesn't have a huge amount of staff.

For those wondering, MVP is indeed signed with the company.  Initially MVP said he was there on a tryout, which was technically true as they were working out issues of the deal at the time MVP made the statement.

The lovely Brooke Tessmacher is indeed still with the company and will be back at some point.  Thank God.

For you Elite subscribers, Mike will have an interview with TNA champion Eric Young tomorrow talking Sacrifice and more.
