RODERICK STRONG OUT OF ROH MAIN EVENT TOMORROW, UPDATED LINEUP FOR PITTSBURGH RETURN

By Mike Johnson on 2014-01-24 08:59:10
Ring of Honor will be running the Steel City of Pittsburgh, PA tomorrow on Royal Rumble Eve at the David H. Lawrence Center. The show has been titled "Wrestling's Finest."

The show will be headlined by a three-way elimination tag bout featuring ROH champion Adam Cole & Matt Hardy vs. Chris Hero & Michael Elgin (teaming for the first time) vs. The Briscoes.

The semi-main event was to feature Paul London vs. Roderick Strong in a Best of Three Falls match, with the winner receiving a ROH title shot on the 2/8 ROH event in San Antonio, Texas. Strong has been undergoing physical rehabilitation on his neck since injuring it during a ROH TV taping in Nashville but was informed by his doctor that he will not be medically cleared. So, ROH will instead hold London vs. Cedric Alexander. Strong will be at ringside calling the match and ROH will hold the Strong vs. London bout when Strong is cleared.

The Pittsburgh event will likely be a ROH "Road Rage" TV taping. Also set for the show:

*Kevin Steen vs. ROH Tag Team Champion Kyle O'Reilly
*The Decade (Jimmy Jacobs & BJ Whitmer) vs. Adrenaline RUSH (ACH & Tadarius Thomas)
*Also appearing are ROH Television Champion Tommaso Ciampa, Cedric Alexander, Jay Lethal, Michael Bennett with Maria Kanellis, Matt Taven and more.
