OLD SCHOOL RAW NOTES, JOHN CENA IS STUPID STRONG, WHY I DISAGREE WITH JIM ROSS, RIC FLAIR VISITS THE NINERS, NXT TV THIS WEEK AND MORE

NXT returns to the NXT Arena on Thursday for the first TV taping of 2014.

Jim Ross did his latest blog, noting that he will not be at Old School Raw tomorrow. He said, "I will not. I do plan on trying to watch it on TV but I will not be a part of the broadcast. There's really no viable role for me to fill and it's much too far to fly in for a backstage 'cameo.'" About Daniel Bryan joining the Wyatt Family he said, "Getting lots of chatter from a variety of 'experts' who have the Daniel Bryan/Wyatt Family storyline all figured out with many condemning it while others are intrigued with it. I am in a 'wait and see' mode and prefer to allow it to play out and see where it goes. For some, any thing short of Daniel Bryan being the WWE World Champion won't work."

I always wait and see where stories go but I also know that by doing this they made Bryan a guy who was a quitter and also moved him out of the WWE Title picture after the fans just voted the guy the Superstar of the Year. I don't see how that can be seen as anything but missing an opportunity. I don't know if Bryan as champ would have worked but I do know that if WWE tells us the guy is not champion material and repeatedly books him that way there is no way he will ever be taken seriously as such. With the dearth of top talent that the company has, it makes no sense to me to not see what you have in a guy. You can read JR's blog by clicking here.

NFL.com has a story reporting that the San Francisco 49ers flew Ric Flair in to talk to the team at their meeting last night as they prepared for today's playoff game against The Green Bay Packers. You can read the story by clicking here.

Flair will be at Old School Raw tomorrow.

The Miami Herald interviewed Ted DiBiase Sr. in advance of tomorrow's Old School Raw. You can read it by clicking here.

The Carroll County Times has an interview with Damien Sandow that you can read by clicking here.

Greg McGlone sent this item. ... I just saw on Twitter, if you follow HardNocksSouth, it's the twitter account of Rob McIntyer, CSCS, who is the head of the strength and conditioning programming for all of WWE. You can see a video on the page of John Cena benching 481 pounds...which is insane for a guy who is only about 245-250, and on top of that, had elbow surgery a few months ago. You can also see some stuff where there are pics of Drew McInytre, Brodus Clay training too. Pretty cool stuff.
