WWE IN PHILADELPHIA, PA LIVE REPORT

By Michelle Perlman on 2013-10-14 00:00:55
WWE returned to Philadelphia, PA on 10/13. Here's my report:

No one sat in the upper level and arena was only 40% full if that. Tony Chimel was the announcer.

1) R-Truth & Tons of Funk vs 3MB: Good solid 10 minute match. Everyone looked great and worked their asses of during the match. Lots of frequent tags and action, along with a few comedy spots. Finish saw R-Truth pinning Drew McIntyre. TOF brought kids into the ring to dance.

2) Damien Sandow comes out and issues an open challenge. Tyson Kidd answered the challenge. It was a 5 star technical match. Sandow got the pin (about time he won a match). I wish they would let him cash in the briefcase already. But Tyson got a standing ovation as his music played and he left.

3) Natayla & Naomi vs Brie Bella & Eva Marie. This was "determined" by the audience to be a dance off. This only proved that not only can Eva Marie not wrestle but she cannot dance either (oh wait, didn't she prove that on Total Divas). Brie and Eva Marie attacked Nattie and Naomi before they could even dance. Nattie tells them to get in the ring and fight! Typical divas match. I really wish Nattie and Naomi could have a match with AJ or even Paige and show what they can do. Finish saw Nattie win via sharpshooter on Brie. A side note is that Nikki was at ringside, wearing her boyfriend John Cena's Rise Above Cancer shirt as a dress.

4) Alberto Del Rio vs The Great Kahli. ADR would not let Chimel announce and instead had local ring announcer Stephan Theodore Benson announce him to a standing ovation!! Congrats to Stephan on a job well done. His announcing was the only good thing about this match. No matter how hard ADR worked, he was fighting Khali and noone was into the match. After what seemed like forever, Khali won by DQ when Del Rio hit him in the stomach with a chair. Khali delivers the Khali chop to ADR and Damien Sandow came down to cash in, only to also get the Khali chop. Time for intermission.

5) Zack Ryder vs Big E Langston. Again, unless you were a kid or lived by WWWYKI, you could have cared less about this match. It's a shame because when Ryder was teaming with Curt Hawkins, I really liked his work. Big E. is impressive to watch. This was a squash match although Ryder won with a quick rollup. Big E paced the ring and stormed off like a kid who was sent to his room.

6) Prime Time Players vs The Wyatt Family. Bray stayed at the top of the ramp on his rocking chair as he could not walk due to his injury last night in Providence. Darren Young had everyone smell his shirt before he tossed it into the match. Crowd was very quiet during this match and seemed as though they were not into it. Harper hit the discus clothesline on Titus to win. As he went backstage, Bray leaned on his family as support to walk.

7) CM Punk vs Curtis Axel. This became a 2 on 1 Handicapped No DQ match. Basically the same match I saw last month at the Izod Center esp, the stuff with the Kendo stick. Finish was Punk hitting the GTS on Axel to win.

This had to be one of the worst house shows I have ever been to. Only 3 matches were worth watching. I think WWE needs to learn to divide their talent up better when they send their employees overseas. Hopefully when I go to the Holiday tour in December, I will have a better review.

Pop of the night: CM Punk
