ECW ARENA UPDATE, FORMER ECW STAR APPEARING AT LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL FESTIVAL IN VEGAS, FIRST TALENTS ON NATIONAL PRO WRESTLING DAY, PIPER'S PIT WITH JAKE THE SNAKE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2013-10-03 09:20:27

There has been a lot of construction work done on the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia. The original hope was to re-open the facility this month, but we are now hearing it will be closer to January 2014. The closing of the venue pretty much killed the independent scene in Philadelphia.

Former WWE exec and ECW star Lou D'Angeli will be speaking on 10/26 at the Life is Beauitful Festival discussing his time working for the original ECW on the "Passion before Paycheck" panel. D'Angeli is now a top exec for Cirque Du Soliel. For more on the festival, click here.

Maria Kanellis and Mike Bennett have been announced as the first talents announced for the February 2014 National Pro Wrestling Day events.

There will be a bus trip to the 11/9 House of Hardcore 3 event in Poughkeepsie, NY from Queens and Manhattan for $85, which includes a ticket to the show, a pre-show Q&A, and early admission. For details, visit www.wrestlingbustrips.com.

Northeast Wrestling is running the Torrington, CT PAL this Saturday with Jake Roberts appearing in Piper's Pit, which is the first time that has ever happened, believe it or not. Also appearing are Dustin Rhodes, Rosita vs. Velvet Sky, Colt Toombs (Piper's son) and more. For details, visit www.northeastwrestling.com.
