By Mike Johnson on 2013-09-20 19:37:32

Ricky Marvin vs. Roderick Strong

They shook hands at the bell.  Marvin looked a little heavier than I recall.

They locked up and Strong took him down but Marvin leapt to his feet.   They locked up again and went into a test of strength.   Strong powered him down but Marvin monkeyflipped him over.

They went back and forth and Marvin used a scissors takeover to send Strong to the outside.  He missed a sliding kick to the outside and charged.  Strong backdropped him into the ropes and he rebounded and came back with a head scissors takedown.

Back in the ring, Strong peppered him with right hands and forearms.  He dumped Marvin over the knee with a backbreaker for a two count.  Strong backed up Marvin into the corner and chopped away at him.   Marvin came back with a handspring elbow and scored a two count on Strong.

Strong was sent to the floor.  Marvin hit a double springboard twisting dive to the floor.  The crowd chanted "Holy sh**."  Marvin went back to the top and nailing a running springboard into a dropkick, sending Strong into the corner.

Strong cut him off with a knee and an Olympic Slam for a two count.   Strong nailed a kick to the face in the corner for a two count.  Strong nailed a running kick in the face.  Marvin returned the favor and they went back and forth until Marvin laid him out.

Strong and Marvin battled back and forth with strikes.  Marvin nailed a twisting DDT, a la Bray Wyatt for a two count.  Marvin went to the top but Strong cut him off and nailed a superplex into the ring for a two count.  The crowd rallied both men.

They battled back and forth.  Marvin came up on Strong's shoulders and nailed a reverse rana, then a clothesline.  He picked up Strong and drilled him down for another two count.   Marvin went for a move off the top but was caught and drilled by Strong with a series of moves.  Strong nailed the Gibson Driver for the pin.

Nigel McGuinness came out and brought out BJ Whitmer.  He gave a speech talking about his injuries and thanked his original trainer Les Thatcher, to Gabe Sapolsky for giving him his original ROH job and to Cary Silkin for all he's done for ROH.  He thanked everyone he's worked with and announced that he's made the decision to end his in-ring career.  He said that last time he left he didn't get a chance to say goodbye, so he wanted to take that moment.

The crowd gave Whitmer a standing ovation and chanted "Thank you BJ."  Whitmer, who was crying, then said that he knows that Nigel won't like this but he knows that Jimmy Jacobs is here and asked him to come out.  Whitmer began breaking down as he talked about their blood feud, before noting that Jacobs has checked on him every single day.  He told Jacobs that it was an honor to fight with him and to share the ring with him.

Whitmer then said that he has one thing left to ask, and that's that Nigel McGuinness give Jacobs a chance to prove that he is honorable.  He said that ROH was built on the guys with the heart like Jimmy Jacobs and ROH needs a guy like him here.  He said that Jacobs stopped SCUM from setting the ring on fire.  He said one career ended tonight, and asked Nigel not to make it two.

Nigel said that he's been caught off-guard.  He turned to Jacobs and said seven years ago, they faced off in a tent outside this building.   He said that he will give him a chance and he can start tomorrow at the TV taping.  Jacobs shook Whitmer's hand and they hugged.

ROH Tag Team Champions reDRagon (Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) & World TV Champion Matt Taven & Michael Bennett with Maria Kanellis & Truth Martini vs. Adrenaline RUSH (ACH & Tadarius Thomas) and C&C Wrestle Factory (Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander).

Big chant for ACH.  God damn, Scarlett Bordeaux is a sight to see.

They started out fast with a lot of tags in and out and near falls.  Good flurry of action early.    There was a lot going on and with so many people on the apron, hard to see

Taven missed a dropkick on ACH.   ACH was sent to the floor, where all of the villains worked him over.  Taven nailed a suplex on him for a two count.

Bobby Fish worked over ACH for a long time.   Kyle O'Reilly and Fish tagged in and out as they wore him down.  Cedric Alexander finally made the hot tag and looked good cleaning house on everyone.   Caprice Coleman joined in with elbow after elbow.

The heroes ran everyone out of the ring and built up to a big dive.  All the women grabbed their legs so they were pulled up on the apron.  The heels tried to roll up everyone from behind for a two count.

It broke down from there with lots of big moves.  ACH hit a dazzling, awesome dive over the top to the floor that blew the crowd away.  RedDragon worked over Caprice but Cedrick made the save.  Cedric hit a top rope rana and scored the pin on O'Reilly.

Your winners, Adrenaline RUSH (ACH & Tadarius Thomas) and C&C Wrestle Factory (Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander).

The lights went out and out came Homicide and Eddie Kingston to a big pop.   Kingston took the mic and said that ROH is back in its home.  Tonight is a huge night because they are crowning a new champion.  He said that the real champion never lost the belt.   He said that whoever gets the belt, they are on notice because the Outlaws are coming,
