ROH Title Tournament Semi-Final: Michael Elgin vs. Kevin Steen

The fans tossed streamers for Steen.

They did some power spots early, testing the other.   Elgin went for a powerbomb but Steen pulled himself out of the ring to prevent it.   When he returned, Elgin challenged him to a test of strength.    They locked up and Steen was forced to his knees.  He kicked Elgin and worked him over in the corner.  He ref tried to make him break but was told he has until five.  Sounds familiar.

Elgin battled back and drilled Steen with a series of shoulderblocks in the corner.  He worked over Kevin with a series of right hands.  Steen thumbed him in the eye and drilled him with chops.    Elgin came back with the Black Hole Slam.  Elgin was on the apron and nailed Steen but was caught and drilled to the mat as he returned.

Steen stomped away on Elgin and went to the top rope.    Elgin cut him off with a big right hand.   He went for a superplex but Steen bit him on the face.  Elgin fell into the ring.  Steen hit a flying bodypress off the top for a two count.

Elgin went for a pump kick but Steen faked him out and avoided it.  They charged each other and clunked heads.  The referee counted them down but they returned to their feet and exchanged clotheslines.  Neither went down.  Elgin nailed a big lariat, taking Steen down.   He covered Steen for a two count.

Elgin dead lifted Steen into a suplex but Steen fought him off.  Elgin drilled him with a series of stiff forearms across the chest.  Steen cut him off and went for a Sharpshooter but was cut off.  He charged Elgin but was sent shoulder first into the ring post.

Elgin went for a suplex off the apron into the ring.  Steen fought him off and went for a swanton, but Elgin pulled his knees up.  The Philly chant had dueling chants back and forth.  Elgin worked him over and went for a twisting moonsault but Steen pulled his knees up. Steen nailed a DVDR for a two count.

Steen went for a cannonball in the corner but Elgin moved out of the way.  Elgin deadlifted him into a belly to back suplex for a two count.  Elgin locked on a Crossface for a submission but Steen make it to the ropes.    Steen began selling his shoulder.

Elgin drilled Steen with a series of strikes but Steen fought back.  They went back and forth with some stiff strikes.  Elgin was caught and powerbombed.  Steen went for a Sharpshooter but Elgin escaped and powerbombed Steen twice, the second time into the corner.  Steen caught himself, took Elgin down and locked on the Sharpshooter.  Elgin made it to the ropes.

Steen worked over Elgin but was caught in a crossface.  They went into a series of reversals and near falls.  Steen nailed a clothesline and a big back suplex for a two count.  This is nuts.  They went back and forth until Elgin killed him with a stiff clothesline.

Steen cut him off and went for the package piledriver but was caught in the crossface.  Steen finally tapped.

Your winner, Michael Elgin!

So, it's Cole vs. Elgin for the ROH title tonight.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team champions The Forever Hooligans vs. The American Wolves

Alex Kozlov demanded everyone stand for the Russian National Anthem.  The crowd chanted "USA."

Eddie Edwards and Rocky Romero started and went back and forth with some awesome wrestling.  Davey Richars tagged in,, as did Kozlov.   Richards took him to the mat and cinched in a leglock.  He made it to the ropes.  The crowd chanted 'USA' while others chanted "Russia."  Finally, the crowd chanted "Rocky IV."

They battled back and forth.  Edwards nailed a leaping knee and sent Romero into the ropes.  He held on like a spider.  He tossed the Wolves to the outside but they came back with stereo kicks sending them to the floor and then hit stereo dives.  The crowd chanted "USA."  Good stuff so far.

The Wolves worked over the Hooligans in the corner.  They picked up Romero and drove him into Kozlov in the corner, then dropped him back with a suplex for a two count.  The Wolves used a double headbutt to continue the assault.

The Hooligans cut off Edwards and took turns working him over.  Edwards tried to battle out of the corner but was tripped by Kozlov as he rebounded off the ropes.  Richards tried to help but was trapped in a stretch while Kozlov used the ropes to assist with a bow and arrow.

The Hooligans worked over Edwards.  Kozlov got annoyed that Romero wasn't letting him get in any offense and they argued and teased fighting but hugged.  That was funny.

They continued working over Edwards until he caught Romero in the corner and nailed him with a running jawbreaker.  Richards tagged in and nailed a big Japanese style dropkick off the top followed by a series of kicks to the chest on Romero.

Richards scored several two counts and went for a belly to back suplex, only to be attacked by Kozlov.  The Hooligans nailed some awesome double team maneuvers on Richards but Kozlov was tied to the tree of woe and nailed with a dropkick.  Richards dumped Romero with a German suplex.

Richards went to drill Romero with a leaping kick but hit Edwards but accident instead.  The Hooligans worked over Richards.  Kozlov nailed the Bolshoi Kick over and over but Richards kept kicking out.  Richards finally fought his way out and tied up

Richards went for a superplex in Kozlov but was fought off...only for Edwars to come charging with an awesome kick.  The Hooligans regained control and Kozlov scored a two count with a top rope frog splash.     Richards came back with a top rope double stomp on Romero for a two count.

The Wolves doubled up on Kozlov.   Edwards had Kozlov on his shoulders and they went over the top to the floor.  Romero nailed a top rope rana  on Richards but Edwards broke it up.  They then nailed a flying knee on Richards as he was held in a Torture Race for the pin.

Your winners and still IWGP Junior Tag champs, The Forever Hooligans.  Good stuff!

RD Evans came out with Veda Scott.  Scott began cutting a promo and the crowd immediately began chanting "Shut the f*** up."  She said she's here to represent Evans after what Homicide and Eddie Kingston did to him.  She told that Nigel McGuinness would answer.  Evans cut a mic but Adam Page came out and told him he's an angry little man but if he wants to fight, they can do it right now.

They had a match.  Page chopped him hard several times and worked over Evans.  He nailed an inverted atomic drop and then a traditional one.  He nailed a third.  Evans' face during this was great.

Evans nailed a knee to the gut and put on Page's hat to mock him.   Page saw it and caught him with a powerslam and a Kryptonite Krunch for the pin.

Your winner, Adam Page!

OK match to spotlight Page and get the crowd back into the show.

Coverage will continue on Page 3!
