CM Punk was attacked by Paul Heyman at Money in the Bank. Paul explained why he did it on Raw. Then CM Punk and Brock Lesnar faced off in the ring and around the ring. We also found out that John Cena would be challenging Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam.

We are in Austin, Texas and your announcers are John ‘Deep in the Heart of Texas’ Layfield, Michael ‘What’ Cole, and Jerry ‘I am the once and current King’ Lawler.

Brad Maddox is in the center of the ring and he says that there is no one more Texas than the sheriff of Monday Night Raw . . . him. Brad says that he made the decision to have John Cena choose his opponent for SummerSlam last week. This week, we will have the contract signing.

Brad has a table, so all he needs are the participants in the match.

John Cena makes his way to the ring first.

Brad tells John there is something they need to do before the contract signing. Brad asks John to explain why he chose Daniel Bryan.

Cena made the choice because Brad let him. He could choose anyone and he listened to the WWE Universe so the choice was easy for him.

Brad wants to know why he was certain to pick Bryan. Is it because Cena knows he will beat him or because he is bigger. Brad says that some might say that Daniel is severely unstable. He has relationship issues.

John wants to know if Brad is certain of these allegations.

Daniel Bryan’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Daniel tells Brad it seems as if he is saying that Daniel doesn’t deserve the title match. Daniel tells Brad that the people disagree with him.

Brad asks Daniel if he deserves a title match or if he knows why Cena chose him.

Cena tells Brad if he wants to know why he chose Daniel, he better ask Cena.

Cena says that the people in charge do not often look at God given talent when it is in front of him. He says that you don’t have to be the biggest or strongest to be champion. He tells Brad to give the title to Great Khali if that is the case. Cena says that people like Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, and Eddie Guerrero prove that the title is about more than size and strength.

John says that the WWE Universe loves him, but he chose Daniel because he earned the match and he deserves it. Being a WWE Champion is about facing the absolute best competition at all time. Sometimes that comes from an unlikely source. He picked Daniel, but because he has been given this opportunity, he will not hand him this championship.

John signs the contract and he says that he will be going to SummerSlam to defend his title. He will prove that even the best isn’t good enough.

Daniel signs the contract and Brad cuts off Daniel before he can say anything.

Daniel tells Brad that he does not get to interrupt him. He has waited his entire career for this opportunity and he has proven that he deserves this.

Brad asks Daniel if he deserves it. Brad says that John Cena and some of the fans deserve it. Brad says that he will let Daniel prove the critics wrong by having a match tonight . . . he means matches.

Will Daniel prove himself worthy . . . Brad says no.

We are told that Mark Henry will ‘fire back’ at The Shield.
