JEFF HARDY AND HIS FANS, CHRIS JERICHO THERE FOR VINCE, MVP IN THE MIX, BROTHER BRUTI AND MORE

By Dave Scherer on 2009-11-25 10:00:00

I love the site but hate wrestling today because it insults my intelligence! My question is about Jeff Hardy’s fans. Do you think he alienated a lot of his fan base because he got arrested and is labeled a “druggie”?

Honestly, I don't.  Jeff has had issues in the past and it never hurt him with his peeps so I don't see it happening now.  His fans are very, very loyal.  Plus, I a lot of people don't care at all about drug usage.

Why are you guys always so down on Brutus Beefcake? It seems like whenever you bring up his name its to put him down or mention that he's a friend of Hogan. Beefcake had a very successful run in WWE with the Dream Team and really got over later as The Barber yet it seems like you guys think he's a joke.

The way I see it, he had a solid run in the WWF because he was Hogan's friend.  That is why he got the shot.  I don't blame him for taking it, and he made a lot out of it, but he wasn't exactly a great worker in the ring.  What galls a lot of people was the run that he had in WCW, where he was pushed above other guys just because Hogan got him in.  And again, my major problem with him was that he got a push that was nowhere close to commensurate with his talent.

I realize this is a few questions in one, but it has bugged me constantly. Anyway here it is. After WWE/F settled the lawsuit with Jesse "The Body" Ventura for his commentary work. Why didn't Gorilla Monsoon sue on the same terms that the body did? Also why Did no further Color commentators ask for and receive the same, ie Heenan/PiperSavage//Perfect. Finally do WWE/F need to pay The Body anytime that they use his commentary? like in the UK Tagged classics?

After Ventura, WWE put a clause in their talent contracts allowing them to use their likenesses on DVDs, etc.  As I remember it, the other talents didn't sue because they wanted to stay with the company.  Suing Vince McMahon is not exactly a great move to make for the long-term health of one's career.

Do you think that Chris Jericho is just an "emergency wrestler" in the hands of Vince McMahon who just use him when there aren't other drawing solutions? In 2008, when Jericho returns, there aren't other main event wrestlers to feud with Orton and Vince bring him back; other situation that I remember is that Jericho bring a new air to the tag team division when it seems dead. If you agree with me, why did you think this happens?

I think that it's fair to say that the company views Jericho as someone that they can go to when they need him so yes, I think that is a fair statement to make.  Why does it happen?  Because Jericho is steady, professional and dependable.  Ric Flair fell into a same position with WCW.  Actually, it's a compliment to the worker.

I’m wondering about MVP. How come he isn’t in contention for a world title?

I wonder the same thing.  For whatever reason, they see him as a mid-card talent.  I think they are missing the boat on him.
