Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling announced the lineup for its annual Pacific Cup tournament on 2/20 in Surrey, British Columbia. Scheduled are Jack Evans, Black Dragon, Aaron Idol, Chance Beckett, Disco Fury, JD Michaels, Major Hardway, Memphis Raines, RAGE, Ryan Wood, Scotty Mack, and Tony Kozina.
Border City Wrestling ran 2/8 in Belleville, Michigan as part of a co-promotion with Primetime Wrestling. The show drew over 550 with paid over 500. Dave Martin was credited with the crowd due to really good local promotion. Sabu pinned BCW champion Shane Douglas in a tag match where Raven and Sabu teamed to defeat Shane Douglas and Dyson Pryce to set up a championship bout on their return here on 4/25. They are planning on bringing in Zach Gowen for that show as well. Chris Sabin defeated Eric Young in a Ladder Match for the BCW Television championship. They did a bikini contest to determine "Miss PTW" which ended with Joe E. Legend coming out and saying the crowd was there to see wrestlers like him, not women when the women were "about to remove their tops." Others on the show included Jimmy Jacobs, Hacker and Gutter, and A1.
The Aberdeen Evening Express reported that tickets go on sale this Saturday for the WWE's return to Scotland on 3/20 at the AECC with Brock Lesnar, Eddy Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Sable, and Rhyno announced. The tour is also hitting Glasgow, Scotland and British cities Newcastle and Sheffield. WWE has traditionally headed to Europe the week after Wrestlemania.
The plan is for WORLD-1 to run again in April, although no dates or venues have even been discussed yet. Buck and I discuss the debut weekend and the Philadelphia date, which we both attended, on Buck's Elite Hotline update this week. I really enjoyed the Josh Daniels vs. Yoshihito Sasaki bout in Philadelphia.
