PWINSIDER Q&A: SHOULD EVAN BOURNE GET THE SUMMERSLAM TITLE SHOT, LONGEVITY OF RAW GUEST HOSTS, PHI-DELTA SLAM AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2009-07-29 09:51:51

If the #1 contender for Orton's title is the guy who beat his opponent in the shortest time, how come Cena gets the title shot?  Bourne had his time beat by about a minute.
Simply by virtue of winning, he showed he deserved the spot as potential challenger, in the fictional universe, more than Swagger and by doing it faster than Cena, more than him as the winner of Beat the Clock.

While you make a good point, it can easily be explained away by the fact that Bourne wasn't in competition for the title shot.  He was there to be an obstacle for it.

With WWE currently having "guest hosts" for Raw will this now be a normal event? How long is this series of guest hosts scheduled to run its course?

The plan is to make the guest hosts a permanent part of the show, for as long as Vince McMahon wants it to be.

With what happened earlier this year involving the WWE/Raw at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO what is WWE's current policy just in case the same thing were to happen again?

Believe it or not, I haven't heard of any changes in how WWE books their venues, although my belief is that the company will be a lot more cognizant of potential issues with their TV venues.

I'm watching Impact right now, specifically the tag match between Scott Steiner & Booker T and Rocco & Sally Boy.  My question is are Rocco and Sally former wrestlers? How did they get involved with TNA and wrestling.

Rocco and Sally are long-time Florida independent tag team Phi-Delta Slam/  They have been a backstage fixture helping TNA for as long as the company has been running at the Impact Zone.

On the 7/23 Q&A, you mentioned one of the reasons some of the wrestlers like TNA is that WWE talent has to pay for their own hotel and rental cars on the road. That I knew, but is this actually not the case with TNA?  Do they actually classify their wrestlers as employees?

TNA doesn't classify their wrestlers as employees.  In some cases, specifically top talent, they cover hotel and rental cars costs.
