HHH GETS ANOTHER MAGAZINE COVER, CODY RHODES INJURY UPDATE, RATINGS UPDATE, DVD NEWS, HULK HOGAN AND MORE

By Dave Scherer on 2009-07-09 14:14:19

It's very possible that WWE booked the finish of Cody Rhodes walking away from Mark Henry last week at the Raw taping due to that fact that he banged up his neck/shoulder.  He has said he will work through the injury and I know that they were hoping to keep guys as fresh as possible for the long tours that the brands were going on.

Greg McGlone sent this link, which goes to a photo spread of HHH working out from the September issue of Muscle And Fitness magazine.  H is also on the cover.

For those of you who wonder why USA is so willing to do ratings stunts with Raw, it all comes down to winning the overall ad-supported cable prime time viewer wars.  That is priority number one for USA Boss Bonnie Hammer.  She won't be happy with the start of quarter three (the week ending July 5), as TNT won the first week of the battle in total viewers (with USA coming in second).  TNT is led on Monday nights by The Closer, which does more viewers than Raw but skews older.  USA won the Adults 18-49 demo but came in second in both Adults 25-54 (to TNT) and Adults 18-34 (to TBS).  Raw was the top rated program in the 18 to 49 demographic, and that is a major part of its value to USA.

Speaking of ratings, Warehouse 13, which bumped ECW from its regular spot on Sci Fi, did a 2.5 rating.  The replay that followed did a 1.5 rating.

Here's a link to another story promoting Hulk Hogan's 7/11 autograph signing in Bridgeview, IL.  For more information on the signing itself, click here.
