What was the deal behind Eric Bischoff coming to WWE in 2002? Was it a case of sinking ratings and trying to shake things up? Or more of Bischoff looking for work? Either way I'm sure no one ever saw it coming, including the Mcmahons and Bischoff once upon a time so just wondered if you could shed some light on the thought process behind it.
The sides got together and did the deal, and they did so very quietly. It came about because they both thought it made sense, so they did it. Oh yeah, people were shocked when the deal was made and the buzz it created absolutely had something to do with why WWE did it.
With the 10/10 production values the WWE has, and we all know they make fantastic videos and graphics etc, why do they play such poor sound effects on Smackdown? Such as inserting audio of fans cheering at certain points etc. I wouldn't have a problem if it sounded realistic, but sometimes it just sounds so bad it takes away from the enjoyment of watching.
I agree with you, it does sound really canned at times and I think it detracts from the show. Honestly, I don't know why it's hard to record sound and incorporate it but I assume it must be because as you said, WWE is very good at every other aspect of production. It's hard for me to believe that they couldn't do that better if it was doable.
Why are different brands superstars constantly crossing over to different brands with no explanation what so ever? I must admit when the extension first started in 2002, it was exciting Television with the 2 GMs competing for stars and it seemed to have a 'equal' feel to the 2 shows. Now it seems every other week, we have wrestlers crossing over with no explanation.
That has definitely been the case in the past and I too find it to be somewhat insulting. The answer is that WWE uses their poetic license and feels that the fans are just supposed to accept whatever they give us storyline-wise. They don't feel that they need to explain some things to us if they don't want to.
I have friends who say that wrestlers like Ric Flair, Chris Jericho and Edge/Christian were the greatest Champions of all time. Why? Their reasoning is Flair is a 16 time World Heavyweight Champion, Jericho is a 9 time WWF/E Intercontinental heavyweight Champion and Edge/Christian were 10 time WWF/E World Tag Team Champions. I agree that these men were great wrestlers but just because you have numerous title reigns doesn't make you the all time best. Look at Bruno Sammartino. He held the WWF/E World Heavyweight Championship only 2 times. But both of his reigns were very long(his 1st reign was for 7 years!!) and I remember him as a great wrestler who was a great champion and when he lost the title, It was shocking!!
Determining who is the best is purely subjective. To me, length of or number of reigns are really immaterial since they are numbers determined by a booker, not actually "won" by the wrestler. When evaluating a champion, I think you need to look at how much money he drew, how good a worker he was and how durable he was. But again, it's all subjective.
I think I know who the biggest scumbag in Wrestling is and I wanted your input. I think it's a guy named Ryan C......well you probably don't want to mention his name so I will call him Ryan Coachroach. The guy steals everything you guys report and claims that he came up with it on his own. Do you agree? Is he the biggest scumbag in wrestling?
I don't know if he is the biggest scumbag in wrestling but he is definite a thief and a scumbag. Anyone who steals from people is bad enough. But when they steal and then make money off of what they stole, they are just utter parasites. That guy is a huge one.
