When a superstar gets injured in the ring, like when Orton broke his collar bone, are they responsible for the medical bills 100% or does WWE help with the bills? Also, do they get paid while they are out recovering and rehabbing the injury?
WWE pays for the surgery and medical costs in a situation like that. As long as the guy is out he gets paid his downside guarantee (unless of course he is released).
A lot of people have been asking for an off-season in WWE, but by giving time off to a couple wrestlers throughout the year isn't that WWE's way of having one? By having some top guys out like Undertaker during the summer with HBK, or time off to heal like Edge last year or HHH this year or Batista all the time, doesn't that give a chance to the younger talent to get a time to shine and shouldn't it be up to them to grasp that chance?
Right off the bat, Taker is not off. He had surgery and is rehabbing now. Other guys have been given time off because they are banged up, and that is a good thing. But a big part of why some people would like to see mandatory time off is so that guys could actually use the time when they aren't that banged up to recharge their batteries, enjoy life and come back fresher. I know an off season will not work because WWE has PPVs and TV shows to deliver so they need to produce first run shows all year. But I would love to see the talent get a mandatory one or two month break once a year. I think it would help them a lot.
I don't understand why the WWE keeps The Big Show at this time. Since his loss to Floyd Mayweather, his credibility has dropped. The WWE will use him in title matches but I don't believe the Big Show will ever win another title again. The WWE has shown that they have no confidence in him. I can't ever see The Big Show ever being in the same level as Andre The Giant and Big John Studd. Isn't it time for the WWE to either make Show a worthy title contender and actually make him a champion or do you believe (like I do) that his days in the WWE are numbered?
Why do they keep him? He's huge and unique, and when he wants to he can really work. It's not like there's anyone else like him around. I don't have a problem with how they book him. If you put the title on him, then you have to get it off of him and that is not easy to do in a credible way. I don't think his days are numbered, and given the status of the lawsuit against him from SoBe Entertainment, I don't think he is in any position to be out of work either.
I want to follow up on a recent Q&A how a three-way match would turn out between you, Buck, and Mike. A little satire here so follow me on this. Several years ago (@2001) on a website you previously worked at, one of the correspondents wrote what a “Weekend at Stone Cold’s” would be like. Perhaps you may remember that. He wrote a rather hilarious parody that involved then-WWF Superstars, taking into account current storylines. Another unrelated wrestling website (OK, so I once in a great while view other wrestling sites) ran an “Evening with the McMahon’s”, which was also quite funny. With that backdrop in mind, how would a “Weekend at Dave Scherer’s Basement” parody play out with you, Buck, and Mike?
It wouldn't. I don't have a basement, just a crawlspace.
I have been reliving the last of the WCW days recently, while watching the last WCW show when Shane showed up, it got me wondering, how much presence did WWF have backstage and also with the booking of the last show?
They had a huge presence backstage and I know that they had final say over how the show was booked. Once they got to that night, the show was all theirs.
