To follow up a question from last week, a lawyer friend sent this: I saw the question today about WWE using the term “Breaking Point” in PPVs, and whether that could pose trademark issues. According to the public records at the US Patent and Trademark Office, WWE has several filed applications to register “WWE Breaking Point” but none for just “Breaking Point”. This might be out of concern that usage of “Breaking Point” alone could be problematic or that WWE would be unable to get trademarks registered for just “Breaking Point” alone. For these reasons (or others) WWE opted to “piggyback” off its strong, already registered “WWE” trademark to try to get protection for “WWE Breaking Point”. Trying to register trademarks in this manner is a common practice among companies.
As more announcers are getting inducted into the WWF/E Hall Of Fame, What about Lord Alfred Hayes? He was a good announcer and was co- host of Tuesday Night Titans back in the 1980's. What are Hayes chances of being inducted into the WWF/E Hall Of Fame?
Given some of the people already in, I don't see any reason why Lord Al shouldn't get inducted into the Hall as well. He was integral figure in some of the "entertainment" things that Vince McMahon did back in the 80s. I think he deserves a spot.
Ever since Al Snow was on TNA one time to attack Mick Foley, TNA hasn't had snow back. I know that Al Snow got married ,recently. Has Al Snow and his sidekick, Head, retired from wrestling?
Not yet. He will be working the 6/27 Legends Of The Arena event in Philadelphia against Shane Douglas. For more information on the show, click here.
You always talk about how some wrestlers don't have the promo ability to make it in the WWE. What difference does it make seeing as how WWE scripts everyone's promos ?
It makes a big difference. If someone doesn't have the ability to deliver a good promo, it doesn't matter what words are written for them to say. It could be the most amazing piece ever typed and someone with no ability to convey it will ruin it. In WWE, all the talent can control is having the ability to get the words that they are given over.
So my girlfriend just moved in and decided to do a little housekeeping and yada, yada, yada, I'm now without my classic nWo T-Shirt, the Red and Black nWo shirt, The Outsiders shirt, and the Tradition Bites nWo 4 Life shirt. Any idea where I can obtain said items? And while I'm at it, has WWE ever thought about making a WWE Classics line of clothing? I know I'd be a frequent buyer.
OK, let me get this straight. Your girlfriend, who I would guess you care about, moves in and gets rid of 15 year old wrestling T-Shirts. Now, you want to replace them. Did you ever consider she got rid of them for a reason and replacing them may lead to her moving out? Now, if that is your intention fine but if not, maybe she is trying to take you to the next phase of your life, the one that involves her! If you are desperate to test the boundaries of your relationship, you can go to Google and type in "nWo T shirt". I found a number of outlets in about a second. As for WWE Classics, I haven't heard anything about them doing that.
I truly hate to see Ric Flair coming out of retirement but at the same time I was one of the ones sad to see him go. How much influence do you think his wife at the time had over him and could she have convinced him it was time to hang it up before he was ready?
I don't believe that had much to do with it. From everything I heard, it was Flair that was the one who decided that Father Time caught up with him and that he should hang it up. Now finances are dictating that in Flair's mind, Father Time wasn't so right after all. I am one who agrees it's sad he is coming back but I was not sad to see him go. By the time he retired in 2008, he looked his age and there were times that he wrestled that I was embarrassed for him. I don't see how any of that could have improved a year later.
