PWINSIDER Q&A: WWE'S NEW RANDY SAVAGE DVD, JBL VS. BLUE MEANIE, MORE ECW ORIGINALS HEADING TO TNA? AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2009-06-07 10:00:00
Couple of questions for you on people returning to TNA and about Victoria (Tara) as well. First have any of you heard if Vince McMahon is pissed at Victoria for not coming back to WWE to wrestle again? And second since Shane Douglas is back, and Raven as well do you see more ECW alum coming back as well such as Sandman Sabu etc.. also if Tommy Dreamer's contract is done and he doesn't renew do you see him going to TNA to do another program with Raven?

I haven't heard whether Vince McMahon himself was upset about Lisa Marie Varon going to TNA, but I would imagine some in the company, specificially those who were pushing her to become a trainer when she came in for Wrestlemania weekend, aren't thrilled.  Most workers I've spoken to were happy for her, realizing she wants more to life than just wrestling and should be able to do it on her own terms.  I don't see more ECW alumni coming to TNA.  My gut feeling is Dreamer is remaining with WWE.

This might be old hat for most but I don't specifically remember.  On the first One Night Stand PPV, what exactly was the heat between JBL and Blue Meanie that left Meanie getting busted open the hard way?

Meanie had been really outspoken about JBL being a bully in the WWE locker room during Meanie's first run there.  When Meanie was booked for the One Night Stand PPV, JBL used the brawl to jump Meanie and beat him bloody.  Backstage, he tried to go after him again, screaming about Meanie making comments on the Internet and tried to tell others Meanie tried to "shoot on him" because you know, Meanie looks and acts like such a MMA fighter and all.

I've noticed that the Macho Man DVD is another "match heavy, bio light" DVD release.  I've noticed they have pulled away from the Bio DVDs (like Flair, Hardys, McMahon, Jake Roberts, and Brian Pillman).  Which do you prefer and how do they decided which type of DVD to release?  Did Macho do any kind of interviews or anything for the DVD?

Randy Savage was not involved in the DVD production at all.  I personally prefer the documentary type DVD releases, although match collections can be fun too.  I think the DVD decisions depend on which producer is assigned to the project and how much of a return WWE thinks they can get on the investment.  I also believe that the mindset is to see how much of a return they can get on a match collection, which is easier to produce and then return later with a documentary if the market dictates they can get away with a return DVD.

Since Mr. Kenneth Kennedy is considered an independent contractor, is he still eligible to collect unemployment......... unemployment?

As long as he is paid up on his taxes and he can prove he is actively looking for employment, yes, but not until his 90 day no compete with WWE (which is paying him his downside guarantee) expires.

Even though Ken Anderson can't officially debut for another 90 days, I thought I'd get a head start on the critics and be the first to ask you if you think he is being utilized correctly in TNA?

Well, he hasn't gotten hurt yet!
