While we did hear from a lot of Comcast customers that had problems ordering WrestleMania in both HD and the standard format, like I did, we also heard from other people who had no problems at all with the country's number one cable company. How some of their people could be shut out and others weren't, I have no idea. As follow up from last night, the rep I spoke to before the show did call back at 7:34 p.m. and told me that I could now get the PPV on the HD channel. Unfortunately, the call went right to voice mail so I didn't get it until after the show. I don't even think HD would have made Orton-HHH more interesting but I would have loved to have it for The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels' match of the year.
Speaking of problems with cable companies, Daniel Cruz sent this. ... I have Time Warner Cable in Northeast Ohio. Time Warner had a problem with On Demand PPV tonight as well. For pretty much over an hour after WrestleMania started, you couldn't order the show. By the time you were able to order it, they were showing Mickey Rourke get into the ring to face Jericho. Some Time Warner customers probably didn't order the show tonight because of this problem.
Ben Grace sent word that over in England, he had problems with the screen freezing throughout the show. How do these things happen, especially on WWE's biggest show of the year? People asking for refunds or not ordering at all due to the problems will have an effect on WWE's bottom line.
Rick Friedman added this. ... To add my two cents, I have RCN cable in the Philly area and they were also experiencing problems getting the HD feed. When I went to call, they already had a message up that it was a known issue. I wound up ordering the SD version as well, so now I get to call and try to get one of them refunded. (Preferably the HD version as they charge an extra 5 bucks for it.) We checked after the Money In The Bank match and it was finally working.
