I'm sitting here watching the second week of ROH on HDNET. I have never seen the product before and I'm impressed. They have a split screen down pat starting with the first show. It took TNA over a year to get it right. It is also amazing that all the wrestling takes place and we see it. Commercials are used for commercials and don't come in the middle of a match. I love the boxes on the side to give the updates on the wrestlers, their holds and affiliation. Am I missing something or have got their s**t together better than the other two. Looks to me like number 3 tries harder and does a good job at it. Your thoughts?
I've enjoyed the first several episodes, but there is room for improvement. They need to improve the audio quality of the crowd so it doesn't feel like the wrestlers are appearing in a vacuum. In terms of presenting the product, ROH has it together, but what we haven't found out is whether ROH can produce compelling weekly television storylines.
I have read various questions concerning the subject Money in the Bank (MITB). That whoever has that right can use its authority when he wants. Anytime, anyplace, at any moment. I was wondering. Would such a thing as Money in the Bank work within the women's division of the WWE? That the WWE Divas be given their own personal version of Money in the Bank. Maybe not a briefcase but an envelope containing a certificate stating that the bearer can use it at anytime, anywhere they see fit. What do you think of the idea? Would such a thing be possible?
It's an interesting idea, but I don't believe it's something WWE would pursue doing at this time.
Dwayne Johnson has made it perfectly clear that he has moved on from wrestling. To me John Cena comes off like a mark who can't accept that "The Rock" the wrestler is no longer but is simply Dwayne Johnson, the actor now. Is John Cena going into business for himself by finally openly making a challenge to him for next years Wrestlemania or has this been some convoluted plan all along on WWE's part to try & lure Dwayne Johnson back? I say just let it go.
I think it's 50% grandstand challenge and 50% Cena using Dwayne Johnson's name to further his own acting career. If Johnson decides to take the bait, touchdown, but if he doesn't, it gives Cena a soundbite in interviews.
What do you think of the idea of the late Andrew "Test" Martin being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame posthumously? WWE was recently criticized for how they responded to his death. This could could be a more dignified way of showing their appreciation for all what he gave to the company. I would have Trish Stratus induct him as she had worked side by side with him along with Albert to become a very successful tag team known as T & A.
I don't think it will happen anytime soon and if it does, it will likely be due to how well he was liked among people in the industry. While he had a pretty decent career, I don't think anyone would claim Test was a really standout performer in comparison to a lot of others who worked during the same timeframe. I also don't think WWE would induct him as a way to "make up" for not acknowledging his passing beyond their brief website statement.
Is Sabu still wrestling?
Yes, he's scheduled to main event the 6/27 Legends of the Arena event promoted by Francine in Philadelphia at the ECW Arena.
